you have to embrace the whole beast to have any chance of success and that includes a strict, gruelling fitness regime, a carefully worked out diet plan, and a level of mental preparedness enhanced by specialist input. If you're moving up, you've got to challenge every aspect of your operation to raise its game accordingly.

Wise words for those of us about to embark on a new campaign in the Pie and Bovril Scottish Premiership General Chatter forum.

That is exactly what I want to hear from any St Mirren Manager.

And if they go for it giving 100%, then I will be delighted.

Win and I will celebrate. Lose or draw, I would be slightly disappointing but no meltdown.

Let's try and win.the League.

Oaky is correct.

Worked last year

He just said "what a relief" because the game was too open "and I can't have that"  ! " We need more quality players in , not necessarily some who have been on 16 grand a week elsewhere , but some who have the potential to be big players" "It's going to be a busy 24  (splutter) 25 days or whatever " ! ^_^

eta he also said Mullen , not Sammy ,  should have been mom and he showed he was going to be a big player for us  !

Indeed.

Seems to be three sets of SFA disciplinary rules:

1.Green bigot rules

2. Blue bigot rules

3. The rest of the SPFL rules

The more things change it seems,  the more they remain the same.

Nothing new here.  IMO

WellI'm sorry but that was dull as f**k. I hope his personality and charisma sparkles more in the dressing room than in does in front of the camera.

I like his interviews. I think he seems ambitious without getting carried away.

Its the stupid questions which make him a bit awkward like "How much are you looking forward to Ibrox on Sunday?"

WTF is he supposed to say to that? "Aye canny wait I'm like a kid a Christmas. Can't sleep at the prospect of it"

It's the cliched boring shite that gets me. We ought to be so excited about going to places like Ibrox, Parkheasd .....and .....erm.... Dens Park.

How about talking your own team up for a change Alan. Say something that makes me think that you think we can win on Sunday.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think we'll win, but I'm just a punter. He's the guy who job it is to motivate our players and instil confidence.

Like I say, maybe he's more inspiring behind closed doors..
