djchapsticks
Being reported on P&B by a Ross County fan who generally knows his stuff that we've accepted a bid for Ross Stewart according to their local press. Quite disappointed if this is the case. Very disappointed in fact. Especially given that we're 48 hours away from the league opener and don't appear to have anyone coming in yet. If he goes, this would mean our search for a centre forward becomes a search for two. Edited August 2, 2018 by djchapsticks

The only way this could be a good thing is if its to free up funds for an imminent incoming replacement Stubbs values more
Ayrshire Saints
If true that is total lunacy - leaves Mullen and Smith (who isn't a striker) plus the guy Stubbs signed from the English non league who he has placed BEHIND Stewart in the pecking order up to now. Clearly Stubbs doesn't really fancy him but there is a player there imo and should have been put out on loan at worst.

In simple terms , we let a young guy like Ross who has a bit about him leave the squad , and have Cody "Who" Cook still with us , this whole scenario isn't going to end well. We may well bring in a decent replacement , but there is next to no depth in the squad as it is.

Hopefully this means one in immediately.

What next , Magennis to Sunderland on deadline day ?

Drew
Even if the player submitted a transfer request, there is no obligation on the club to accept and act on it - certainly not two days before the first game of the season season in any event. billyg
Have the club announced it yet ? Seems likely they'll announce any coming and goings at the same time.

oaksoft
We need to trust the manager to do his job. He couldn't get a game last season in the Championship but now he is apparently the great saviour. You couldn't make it up.

Last season was the making of Ross, his goals securing Alloas promo, so he was also part of a success story. He has a 2 year deal, Alloa can not afford him, and looks like Loan out is certainly delayed until we get someone in. Ross has his own reasons, probably realizing that he will fall way down pecking order when Stubbs recruits. I would def say Championship is his present level, but he has def improved under Jim Goodwin

Sometimes a club needs to keep players with potential , a word used by Jackson to describe Stewart the other night. Remember , he was brought in as a "project" !
