Best St. Mirren XI from last 10 years

Recommended Posts

Has this been done recently?

Anyway this is mine:

                        Bullock (against Hearts)

Van Zantan   Broadfoot  McGregor  Tesselar

                 Mallan Mcginn Mclean

        Morgan Thompson Corcoran

Wanted to fit in: Teale, Hasselbank, Sutton Mcgowan and Isma.

I think that team will be top 6 if they played this season.

Bullock, Broadfoot & Corcoran have not played for us in last 10 years.

Why would you pick Bullock & Corcoran anyway?

Bullock against Hearts , Corcoran against Motherwell.

Good enough reason as any.

1 good game doesn't justify selection. If it was last 20 years would Jens Paeslack get in?

That's some subs bench. Not a bad starting 11 either.

Interesting that Gowser is not appearing anywhere.

Edited to add other than Callum's photy above.

He very nearly made my bench.

Central mid is without a shadow of a doubt, where we have been consistently at our strongest for the past decade. All the best players we have produced aside from Morgan have come from centre mid.

This looks like a trend that will go on with Kyle Magennis and Ethan Erhahon.

I'd love for us to blood a striker that will give us 3 or 4 goal riddled seasons before netting a big move onwards.

I would go with that but I would swap Van Zanten for Jack Ross.

Yeah I understand. I know J McGinn and McLean have already gone on to have better careers than Gowser. However if we were judging it purely on their time with us then I think letting Gowser was as as integral in our downfall as selling McLean.

Me too,  Vanzy was consistently good and a character to boot. I do seem to remember in Jack Ross's first season there was a lot of "David Van who?" comments going on. I would also make a case for Jure Travner at left back.
