Thanks. I shouldve been clearer on my post, I meant why should we sign him?

Because he scores goals which is something we could do with

Scored goals - past tense!

Record Sport understands the 38-year-old was told by Lions chiefs a two month probationary period had led to doubts he could continue in the dual-role.

Seems like a good idea for a club to build into a managers contract - scratches chin!  :whistle

Is this confirmation that Wendy has been right all along?

Will Hopkin be back there?

Will Miller sign for Saints or Hearts?

I suppose if Hearts sell Lafferty they could see Miller as a short term replacement.

Would love to see him come to us as,strange as it may sound,I've always had a healthy dislike for him.

That’s them lost another on a pre -contract , Declan Gallagher off to Motherwell, him and Halkett are big losses.

Add that to Halkett and the heart of their defence needs replacing for next season . . .  Hope they sign the guys from Dee . . .  :magic

With a home support of around 1k , they surely cant be sustainable.

Have had a great season and its cost them money.

The Scottish game is so underfunded no one makes money

Look at Killie.................. if the qualify for Europe it will cost them money. When Caley qualified it cost them around 200k to play in Europe .............. no TV coverage in the Qulaifying round, and a totally skint SFA and SPFL............................ so no help or reward

They happilly allow plastic pitches , 50% foreign players and of Sevco to borrow borrow............................

For most clubs the aim should be to break even and not spend out with their means. You'd have thought Livi would have learned this lesson.

any league money they get this year will be the same-ish as every other team (or less) and that is the money every team spends in advance, so their place money is already gone.         I'd prefer they went under and took an automatic relegation spot.

Maybe's next season if they are not careful...

Along with Hamilton they are the 2 worst supported clubs in our league - so the top league is better off without them both... but that sure be an advantage for us . . .  :turtle

This is why we need to kick on and move up the league to attain more money from a higher placing to counteract the extra income others get through bigger attendances etc.

Request for Gus / Oran :   goal scoring strikers and a goal scoring midfielder who will do it regularly at this level to sign for us next season and a few others gems to improve the team elsewhere too please  . . .   :spud7

It’s so easy to make this request. What’s harder is finding those guys, because most of the time you need luck. Last time we were up the only guys who fitted that description were John Sutton (who we lost after our first season back up), Michael Higdon (ideally the sort of player we need), Stephen Thompson (pure luck as he is a Saints fan) and Andy Dorman (now THAT was a top find from Gus). Our best chance right now is unearthing some sort of Dorman - and that ain’t easy.

It is far too easy to make this request - I am not certain however, that it is purely down to luck, but you are dead right that these sort of guys are rare on what we may pay etc.

Added to your list perhaps are guys like : Isma, Lavety, Yardley, MacDougall, MacAvenie, Somner, McGarvey, Stark, Gilles and perhaps a few more...

A number of seasons ago Motherwell got Lukas Jutiewicz who banged in 12 on loan and Hibs got Kambieri who banged in 9 in 14 matches (1/2 a season) on loan

There are guys out there, it is just that all clubs are looking for them and many are offering better pay than we will. Surely that is what Gus is tasked with - unearthing guys that fit this?   Given the European lads he brought in last time, surely we now have contacts and possibilities that we would not have had previously? If Hladky goes in the summer, we will have additional funds for next season too. (We will need to purchase Popescu too)

We need to do what we did with Hladky - get good ones on at least an 18 month contract, preferably longer. That way we get the benefit of them being ours for matches and realistic sell on fees when we can no longer say no to significant offers. The extra revenue this brings can be re-invested in replacements and other important matters.

IF any season we can unearth 3 players like Hladky, Popescu and Muzek, and we sell one, that not only justified Gus's wages but both improves the team and the finance we have for the following season... that way we might get to aim higher and be able to offer better terms to promising players . . .

Gus /OK etc. did really well within a fairly short term window, this time they should have a better chance - time wise, summer window and a more secure base to build upon.   :happyclapper

Why make this argument, they're both where they are on merit making a virtue out of their financial limitations by playing survival based football - we would have done better if we'd taken this approach at the start of the season..

Hamilton came up with a good team which was cherry-picked after the first season, since then it's been a struggle for them, Livi are having the same thing done to them right now but are they any different to us? In the close season Morgan finally went to Celtic, Davis down south & our best player in the first half of this season Hammill, despite saying he'd be happy to stay for the full season, was as good as gone as soon as his wonder goals generated a bit of interest - the sooner we accept we are a diddy team too, the better.
