Loan Signings

Recommended Posts

Loans signings were just as shite as the permanent players out on that park yesterday it was a permanent player that got hooked just after ht.

Loan or permanent makes no difference it’s the quality of player that matters and so far all have been poor but easy to argue the loan players have done a lot better than the permanent ones Stubbs has brought in which isn’t hard

One difference is the terms of some loan deals can make it hard to drop a loanee if they are fit or you sometimes have to pay a financial penalty if you do. It doesn't look to be the case with Rogers but I think all the other loanees have played every week and gone straight into the matchday squad the week they've signed.

in Stubbs case the loanees are by far and away the best signings , they will be away and gone next season , we will however be left with duds that he signed on 2/3 year contracts .

Danny Rogers, Hayden Coulson, Alfie Jones, Lee Hodson, Matty Willock, Nicolai Brock-Madsen... Coulson has had 1 great game (his debut against Killie) and that's about it (so far).

Just heard a rumour were gonna sign Ryan Edwards. I dont know him but was at Hearts and Partick apparently.

Not sure on how good this source is.

Eta. I see he has only signed for hearts in 2018 with 0 appearences. Thought id pass it on incase it rang a bell with anyone.

Kenny miller suppose to heading to Dundee maybe he was back up plan either way certainly not a position we need.

Need a left mid, decent cb,decent striker and a back up gk doesn’t look like any of them will be coming in before Friday ☹️

Yeah heard he was an attacking midfielder who canny score and creates nothing.
He will feel right at home.

Cammy Smith most recently who we had on loan then signed permanent and we have contracts expiring every year are you new to supporting St Mirren?
Harry Davis and Gavin Reilly had successful season with us on permanent deals but have moved on they may as well been on 1 year loan deals shows it makes no difference.

No as many as we need/can afford to help us have a successful season.

You trying to say if we got 10 loanees in and finished top 6 you still wouldn’t be happy?

There's a difference between loanees at the end of their contracts and under a bit of pressure; and those that know they can go back to the comfort of their parent clubs if things don't go well.

What and then not get offered a new deal at their parent club because they can’t make it at st Mirren no pressure then.

You think they see it as just a wee holiday and their parent clubs won’t care how they get on out on loan.

His mind...

Clearly we are free to use Danny Rogers as a No.2 but let's see how often Stubbs drops the loan signings between now and Christmas or see how often he goes with all the fans selecting Coulson as a left midfielder rather than a left back.

It's not unusual for some parent clubs to insist loanees play when fit or the club pay all the wages if they are fit but not selected.
