Callum Gilhooley
Now we have a new man in place , what is the situation regarding who he can or can’t sign ? Lots of questions, Are loan deals still available to us ? Can we offload some of the existing ones ? What about free agents , who is available ? There used to be a list of players without a club , does such a thing still exist ? Do we still have a budget for players left ? Not speculation , just wondering what or who may be available to us. Only thing we can do is add free agents if Samson were to get suspended or injured think we would be allowed an emergency loan to get a keeper in.No one will leave as they can’t now play for another team till January anyway due to them being under contract after the transfer window is closed

aldo_j
Think if you release a player after the window, they are unable to sign for a club until the next window. Could be wrong. guess this is where the Head of Recruitment comes in. Should have a list of free agents...

Frank McGarvey' wonky legs
We could loan people to other clubs if emergency loans are still allowed for up to 93 days. Not sure if still possible as there was criticism of certain clubs use of that in the championship.

buddies1877
Is there not still the option to release “by mutual consent”?Yes but the players aren’t going to agree to be released when they can’t sign for anyone else till January anyway. Ayrshire Saints
The bottom line is bar incoming free agents we have the squad currently assembled until the window opens again.

I thought free agents could sign for a club at any time.

No, a player is still limited by the window in that they must have been free when the window closed.

In all seriousness though, I wonder if guys like Ross Wallace or Zander Diamond would consider deals even in the short term. Would they still be good enough (both 33) to perform at our level? Wallace was a semi-regular for Sheffield Wed last season and Diamond has kicked about the lower reaches of English football for a few years now. Was Nasri not on about £100,000+ a week at Man City at one time?
