People also pointed out there was a risk that Stubbs could be stuck with 6 or 7 players he had told he didn't want if he couldn't shift them and we'd have a big group of unhappy players before a ball was kicked. Then look at who was signed to improve the squad and replace Eckersley, MacKenzie, McShane and Smith... Hayden 'Adam Who?' Coulson; Cole Kpekawa and Josh Heaton and maybe Alfie Jones as well; Cody Cooke. Hardly a resounding endorsement of Stubbs telling around half the squad he inherited they were free to leave!
