Eric Arthur Blair

Welcome back, Gus MacPherson.

Recommended Posts

Not sure how people can have this view when no one really knows the exact duties he'll hold.

The posters on here who are saying we don’t need a TD must know what his duties would be, ask them. Me, I’ll leave it to the club if they want a TD & let him carry out his job.

Read between the lines what that he said he played a huge part in his career giving him the confidence to go out and play and not worry about making mistakes instead you take any negative words and try to twist them into your own little fantasy.

He has nothing but praise for gus

Vanzy says that gus is the best manager he’s ever worked with to which Charlie Adam likes the tweet.

Fantasy   Emmanuelle is that you... do it now :moony2

Gus was correct about Adam when he was with us. He was dumped out of Ibrox because of his fitness and attitude. Probably Gus and Andy Millen that shaped Adam up and got him back on track. Listen to the players appreciation of his time with Gus that will tell you all you need to know.

Gus McPherson did a tremendous job with St Mirren and would be a quality addition to the club. Would also be a huge help to Kearney. I'd take him over Jimmy Nichol all day long.

No argument from me on this Lenzie,  except maybe the tremendous bit, would go as far as Good given the tools he had to work with, but watching his team was a cure for insomnia.  everyone`s entitled to there own opinions mate, and you could be right, as anyone who could take a team to a national final with John Potter at the heart of its defence is either very lucky or a Genius

Love how this forums full of experts on who can & can not do a job. Why do some of you not apply for the positions? Before some say it’s their opinion, it’s not they actually think they know better. emoji6.png

I assume that's your opinion or is it that you know better?

Not a huge fan of going back the way, but interested to see how this pans out.

I think until we actually know what the Technical Director is going to do it's difficult to say!

Aye, me as well, didn't think that he, after being the main man for a long time, would be happy being the supporting act.

Time will tell.

Get him onto those pesky W7 scamps about making a huge Gus banner.

Great, meltdown from Billy G, can't beat it.

Between that and not getting his SMiSA badge it's been a tough week...….hopefully it was just a wee bit of a rant and he continues watching The Buds and contributing to SMiSA!!

Will/can the club explain to the fans what the job description is for this post?

It would be helpful if we knew where the areas of responsibility lie between Technical Director, Manager and Chief Executive.

Otherwise there may be a few ill-informed and misguided posts (God forbid) on here at some point in the future.

To make St Mirren great again.

His expertise in putting together a defence that doesn’t leak goals may well be just what we need. Put that alongside the experience of Ferdinand then we might just be very hard to beat. OK has a philosophy of playing good attractive football. If the defence is strong and sound then the rest of the team can get on with winning the game.
