faraway saint
Seen earlier that the hurricane has been downgraded to a category 1, was category 4. All these people who have evacuated will be pissed off.......................where do these people go anyway?

My mother in law's middle name was Florence. She could get her point over without either graphics or numbers. Now she was strength 4 god bless her. Wonderful woman. faraway saint
Over 80,000 without power, storm surge still to really hit, the people who have decided to stay will need rescuing. Where are the people living that have taken the advice and left the area?

Where are the people living that have taken the advice and left the area? Depends on a few things FS. Most that leave go to family wherever in the US that may be. Others just pack possession in the car and just head away from the storm eg to areas west of here offering shelter. Don’t mind admitting I’m more than a bit nervous - the stronger winds are forecast to start at 10 am our time but the real bad stuff should be with us Saturday &! Sunday. Reports we're getting here suggest winds have decreased but the storm surge is going to be the biggest danger? Fingers crossed it's ok for you and family. Best wishes mate, hope its not as bad as we fear, as the main issue is the rain and rising waters

Charlotte Saint
Not so much the storm surge for us - that’s for the poor sods near to the coast. Our bigger problem is that we’ve had a lot of heavy rain over the past couple of weeks, so the rivers are high and the ground is already wet so won’t take much more. Trees coming down and the probability that we will lose power all adding up to a fun weekend.

Charlotte Saint
^^^^^^^^ What an utter clown. :Pathetic really. He’s not the only one exaggerating things though with every channel trying to outdo the others with “reports” of destruction. Anyway where we are in Indian Land which is 20 miles south of downtown Charlotte it was windy but mostly dry overnight and currently it’s breezy rather than windy and pretty wet
