Lets put it another way. One of them is fit and playing in the premiership, and the other isnae!

You’re right, he probably won’t play that much. However, it’s another experienced head in amongst the match day squad for the timebeing. From memory, he’s also played left side of a back 3, so increases our options...better than slotting P. McGinn in there?

Anyway, he’s not the saviour. He’s just another body.

Tough one! Play Anton, and risk aggravating his injury and losing him for longer.

Don't play him and suffer defensively as he is our anchor, without an equally skilled replacement.

We could always sign the boy Lithgow from Livingston. I'm sure I've heard people calling him an anchor...

Would think McShane & Kirkpatrick are okay to come in if needed - both have had minutes under their belts recently.

It's not gone.

But best not to shout about having lots to spend.

Would only result in us paying more than we need to for players.

I would think that most of the £2m is indeed gone. How much did we get in add ons for Mallan not getting a game for Barnsley or McAllister not kicking a ball for Derby? People said we sold Morgan when we did last season because we were going to have cash flow issues. We've signed 17 players since the end of last season and already sent 3 packing before the end of the first quarter and sacked 1 manager and 1 first team coach and recruited more back team staff.

We also brought in around 500K from winning the Championship. The players we have "sent packing " were loan players we returned to their clubs. We will have paid signing on fees to players and paid out one Transfer Fee. But...Our budget will be larger than last season.  Even under AS it was clearly the intention to move on 3 or 4 or more of last year's team so trimming the wages budget to allow others in. This didn't happen so we are currently carrying these wages. Few would disagree that recruitment didn't bring in the quality of player we needed and many will be moved on but not until January at the earliest. Add to this the ins and outs of compensation money for managers ...broadly neutral. My feeling is that we have splashed the cash from last season's prize money,or most of it, but not the transfer fee monies. But .. we are allowed to differ.
