The Fecking Naany State

However, the Scottish Government last night appeared to contradict their consultation.

In a statement, a spokesman said prawn crackers and poppadoms could be seen as part of “main meals”.

The spokesman said: “We’re not looking to make restrictions in relation to main meals and it is not our intention to restrict restaurants from including savoury foods, such as prawn crackers or poppadoms, as part of meals.”

It's easy to criticise governments but at the end of the day, they need to fund the NHS to pay for the unhealthy lifestyles people are leading in this country.

What we are doing to the NHS with our alcohol and junk food obsession is a nationwide act of self inflicted wounding. To then complain about the state of the NHS is simply scandalous.

They're treating junk food and alcohol like smoking now. Absolute ridiculous approach that'll likely lose them the majority. Should be concentrating on bigger issues than telling people how to live their life. They'll be able to do hee haw for the good when they lose power!

Isn't that because the effects are a major drain on the NHS?

Obesity is linked to 13 types of cancer, I would suggest this is a good enough reason on it's own for trying to reduce obesity.

Spoken like a true fat boy. :P

Why would people not vote for them by actually giving sound advice and trying to stop obesity and heartattacks.

Whats a bigger issue than people dying ?

And who exactly are they going to lose power to ? The Fat Tories ? They already have in case you hadnt noticed

Another fecking stupid thread- go find a country where you can do what you like. Mind you , you might need a zillion in the bank or an army behind u....

And rightly so - every bit as dangerous and draining to the NHS.

Agreed. Scotland is a nation of fat cunts and its high time it sorts itself out. Government wouldn't be getting involved if people were doing it for themselves.

As you say, the type of people that cry "nanny state" are the same ones that will cause a f**king riot when they need to wait for treatment on the NHS.

People who believe in Scottish independence and are against all the British state stands for are not going to give up the cause over a few prawn crackers.

On the plus side, the fannies that cry "nanny state" couldnt run the length or width of themselves.............

Its common sense, and also now the biggest killer in the UK, so plaudits to the Scottish Gov on this one...................

What about the ears, noses , intestines of animals that fans eat as a hotdog on match days ? There are tons of unhealthy food served daily.

The Scottish diet has never been that great and nutrition is what gives us a healthy immune system , however the proliferation of junk food availabilty seems to have worsened the diet in recent years which is envitably a cost to the NHS as junk food leads to obesity and finally other ailments.

As far as NHS costs are concerned , the fact that nearly half the adult population are now on pharmacueticals (47% increase in the last 10 years) doesn't help either .

I agree completely Neil some food out there should carry signs like cigarettes, pictures of clogged up arteries on packaging foods with high fat content.

If anyone out there needs to be told that late night kebabs, pies, processed food, cheesburgers, deep fried pizza, fish & chips and cake are stacked with fat they are probably beyond help.

Do these wheezing tubbies think that cabbage and lettuce is causing their size 40+ inch waists?

You see that is the whole point. The ones that moan that the Gov are basically telling them what to eat and drink are the ones who are as thick as planks ....

IMHO. Go eat and a curry ever night and wash it down with 2 litres of Coke, but see when your heart gives out just self treat, and leave the already strained NHS to people who are actually genuinely ill.

Just like people should watch the crap they eat, they also should watch the crap they start in a thread :whistle

More often , the problem is high carbohydrates and sugar content . It is almost impossible , almost,to buy packaged food that does not have sugar.

The lie is that fat makes you fat when actually your body does need to get good fat. .

Of course the other thing you don't need is the dodgy meat you mentioned in an earlier post which can play havoc with the colon leading to leaky gut and the other ailments that brings. There is probably a pill for that right enough.  .

Your body also needs carbohydrates and sugar. It's all about balance.

I think people are intelligent enough to know junk food when they see it.

The problem is about why people eat this crap in the first place.

It isn't a calorie issue as much as a psychological issue.

People comfort eat, get addicted to the routine and then can't break free.

The body does not need sugar (sucrose) . The story that it does was probably pedalled by the sugar industry. Your body does convert most of your food to sugar for energy , so if you feed it straight sugar , the body doesn't know what to do with it ,it toxifes the body and turns to fat . It is also known now that sugar feeds cancer cells , another good reason not to take it. .

eta, the thing that addicts people to that sort of food is more often than not the high sugar content as sugar is proven to be more addictive than cocaine . .

I don't know that ld agree they are " as thick as planks" , more like they don't know or don't care or both . Remember , young people tend to think they are invincible. .

Indeed. They even repeat crap like "nanny state" straight out the tabloids written to manipulate the halfwits in the population. Why would the Daily Mail and Daily Express be so against this "nanny state"? Anything to do with corporations wanting to sell cheap to make sugar laden shite to all the dimwitted fat f**ks that read the Daily Mail?

Give them a real nanny state. Round them up and stick them in boot camp until they are no longer a drain on society.
