If what you are saying is true. What does that about the footballing brains at St Mirren ?

Same as Fulham and look how they are getting on........................ you need to adapt, we said ages ago we needed big strong players that would boss and bully, we got Stubbs lot and then 2 midgets from OK.......................... we dont have a front man, we dont have a big defender, we dont have a midfield muscle man................. we dont even have a red card

Wonder if Fitzy still thinks top 6 is on ?

Fully agree. Think we need a few big battering ram type players. Magennis puts himself about when fit but apart from that we've not got much dig. I like our style of football, but the players haven't adapted whatsoever. That's why I can't start blaming the manager at this stage. Anton Ferdinand looks composed and is used to that style, Jackson seems good at what he does but needs support. Hammill has a great delivery and is good on the ball. Think all 3 have improved the squad, but we still need another 3 or 4 that will add that physical element that we're lacking. Those players get snapped up quick in Scotland during the window, you get left with the technically good midgets if you don't act fast (or correctly, in stubbs case)

At the risk of riling  Oakie, I think the correct term is technically good little people.

There's no denying it's more effective for a newly promoted club. Last year we were the best team in the Championship, playing the best football. Now we're one of the weaker teams in the Prem, but trying to play a similar style... I wouldn't be against playing more direct but we don't have enough physicality to make it work. Pretty sure Jack made a comment about wanting to bring in more physicality towards the end of last season...

You are right. Jack Ross and Alan Stubbs highlighted that we lacked physicality.  Key players for us last season were Lewis Morgan, Cammy Smith and Gavin Reilly who scored a barrow load of goals. None of these are tall, physical players. We played to their strengths. As you have said elsewhere on this thread we still need another 3 or 4 players with skill, fitness and physicality. Oh - and who can score goals. Not a lot of them about. Which is why, after missing the early part of the transfer window due to Jack's vascillation, we found it impossible (?) to recruit any.

Thought we done well in the first half, was a tricky game with the wind. Should have went into half time at least 1-0 up. At 0-0, it gave Rangers the mental advantage knowing they had the wind behind them second half.

Not much we could have done about either goal, first was a total fluke.

Samson 4/10 - think he had butter on his gloves

Erhahon 8/10 - really composed on the ball! Did well in a position that wasn’t natural to him

Jones 7/10 - strong performance

Ferdinand 7/10 - another solid performance by the big man

Paul McGinn 6/10 - made some important tackles but thought he didn’t read the game well at times

Mcshane 7/10 - quiet game but put in a shift. Only reason not higher he overhit a few crosses and free kicks

S McGinn 7/10 - much better today, shame he got injured!

Edwards 8/10 - where did that performance come from? So much better

Willock 7/10 - good until his injury, won possession in good areas, didn’t do much wrong

Mullen 6/10 - think a bit out his depth but works hard

Jackson 6/10 - got bullied a bit but also worked hard

Subs- thought Cody Cooke pick of the bunch, won a few headers, much better from him. Good to see guys coming into the team and making the effort to impress the manager

Wrong thread ya numpty.
