You dislike sectarianism and racism.

Only your take on these make any sense.

Aye well..so much for being on the same side unless people agree with you 100%

Aye we know that, hence there is no compo despite what some hope. A question still remains wether Sammy might be slotted in as a back up after January? Mainly being asked by Sunderland fans.

It doesn't follow that there would be no compensation. Samson was under contract. We would expect compensation and feel sure it would be given. How much? I don't know.

Shull for the avoidance of doubt. You are a racist. You obviously have no clue what it actually means , so below should help you avoid being one

racist
/ˈreɪsɪst/

  1. 1.
a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another.

Still no evidence.

Why so-Please explain.

CS was under contract to us.

We were presumably content with that.

Sunderland sought to persuade us to let him break his contract.

Why should we agree?

Just because we are nice guys at SMFC?

i don't think so,

As soon as he retired the contract ended.  So there is no compo, otherwise every player who retired and took up a management or coaching role couldn't unless compo was paid to their last club.

I would imagine some sort of compensation would be due even if it might not be in form of a direct payment . I certainly don’t know the ins and outs of any deal but I would imagine it would be something along the lines of

Sammy offered a secure job with a view to his future so  he or SAFC approaches the club to say it has to be a quick decision due to the situation at SAFC . Can’t go as a player as is under contract till end of season.

Option 1 , Saints say no , Sunderland appoint someone else, Sammy misses out and resents club, unhappy player sees out contract  in reserves on full pay.

Option 2 He retires with agreement of all concerned, SAFC pay up the remainder his contract to Saints  either  to us or to the player as a sign on to buy out his deal with us., ( Which , let’s be honest wont be much) and frees up a wage .

We have two keepers on the books and a youngster plus another young up and coming keeper who may well sign on in January.

He retired and therefore contract would be null and void, no compensation. He has started a new career as a coach and the only way I can see that compensation may be a possibility would be if at some time, during the time we hold/held his player registration, he decided he wanted to play again.

I see where yourself, Wee Bud and others are coming from and the sense in your argument in normal terms when a player retires through coming to the end of their contract or through injury. Neither applies here. I could be wrong of course since none of us are "in the know".

Would just like to add something not about Sammy. The abuse Paul McGowan got on Saturday when he came on as a sub for Dundee from a former Saints employee for one was disgusting.. Guys is a Saints LEGEND. Man of the match in the 2013 final. I was ashamed to hear what was being shouted. It was so bad I wouldn't even repeat it on here.

His contract isn't necessarily null and void when his player registration is cancelled. He would still be an employee and could move with compensation as a manager would.

I'm not sure his player registration will be cancelled hence the compensation should he decide to come out of retirement as a player.

You're as deluded as the prick from Stirling.

Thanks for your definition of racism.

Now go and find the evidence to prove your point.

Ask Ricky to assist you.

He thinks it is racist for a Scottish dude to prefer reading the latest score of say Burnley than wanting to know the latest scores of 2 sectarian Scottish Clubs.

You and Rick are welcome to each other.

Pair of fecking morons.

I agree. The booing and the abuse of him was poor. Not the way to treat a player that was magnificent for us.

Hey

Don't bring me into it.

You dug your own hole here.  Dig your own way out of it.

Again.. For the umpteenth time.

I don't think you are a racist. I am not a racist.  You dislike sectarianism. I dislike sectarianism.

Doesn't mean that I can't have an opinion on racism that differs from yours or yours from mine.

What is it with people on forums that they constantly want to split hairs?

Move on.

Is there any rule against a player "retiring", moving to another club as coach, then coming out of retirement to play for that club? Not specific to Samson, I'm just curious if it's a loophole...

I would think there is scope for the club he left taking legal action for compensation in that instance. Might see some sort of compensation being agreed once the transfer window opens, as any transfer couldn't happen right now. Similar to when we signed Danny Mullen on an emergency loan which then became a permanent transfer after the window opened.

Well, prove your racism.

First of all, what Races are you talking about ?

And what is wrong to prefer to see the Burnley latest score on the Forum than to see the Sectarian Clubs latest scores.

Stop talking in fecking riddles ye halfwit and give me your evidence.

Any player who has won a trophy at our club imo is a legend.
Indeed and as you point out he was the official man of the match in a winning cup final.
As a player, he's a St. Mirren legend.
