Anyone being mutually terminated, it's difficult to know how much we'll pay but clubs are in a stronger position on this than some might think. We wouldn't be paying full contracts because we can technically block them playing for other clubs for that duration, so it's in the players interest to get a part paid deal in order to continue their career before the end date of their contract. I don't think roughly 12 out six-eight in is unreasonable. If Ferdinand goes we have full wages for him, Hammell, O'Keefe (granted not likely first team money) and Lyness (possibly), the other departures could cover another three-five players on top of that relatively easily. It is costing a fortune just to get rid, and in some cases the club are paying out just to kick a problem down the road a few months with loanees out. do get me wrong, i would love to see a healthy influx of say eight quality players to get us out the shite, but the hard fact is the money has already been spent, and Oran, Tony, the chairman and even Div now are on record managing expectations that it will Be quality over quantity. I.e. A lot less in than out. we will be able to assess what 'quality' we have been ab,e to recruit between now and May, but i hope people get real with these wild expectations of just about replacing the outs with ins numbers wise. Signed one: min that will come in goalkeeper centre back (two if Ferdinand goes) attacking option it’s very likely we’ll sign 6-8 players this window. The money is coming for 10-12 (possibly more departures.)That’s the part that isn’t rocket science. The club is not in a bad financial situation, retained profits from last year and the McGinn money is paid in tranches. There’s every reason to suggest we can bring in a decent number of players when looking at the ones leaving. If we assume that Heaton being out on loan removes him from the squad (even accepting we will be paying at least some of his wages) As of right now the first team squad consists of; Danny Rogers Jack Baird Ethan Erhahon Adam Eckersley Lee Hodson Anton Ferdinand Paul McGinn Gary MacKenzie Cole Kpekawa Ryan Flynn Jim Kellermann Kyle Magennis Stephen McGinn Cammy MacPherson Greg Tansey Cody Cooke Simeon Jackson Danny Mullen Cammy Smith That's 19 players. Div, at the Q and A, OK mentioned ideally having a squad of 20-22 first teamers and specifically added on 'and then a couple of the youth lads like Ethan and Cammy' so I'm not sure those two would necessarily qualify in that 19 mentioned. Rogers - Question marks over him being the new no1 or if he would be happy to stay to deputise a new no1 incoming Anton - Would love him to stay, though the ball is in his court. Kpekawa, will either find a club or we will most likely do what we had to do with King and mutual termination Eckersely - Doesn't seem to be near first team for some reason. Possibly leaving too? GMack - On the road to recovery. Very useful player when fit. I'd like to think he can chip in with contribution with the season run in. Flynn - Used sparingly, though may have a place in the team. Unsure on if OK would keep him or not due to his lack of game time to date. Kellerman - Looks like he may have a chance to impress. Can't play for a 3rd team this season either. Cody Cooke - Worked extremely hard to get himself into the managers plans. Seems to pick up a few niggles though. Uncertain whether he will stay or go? Unless any of us have view of club accounts its fair to say no-one on here knows the budget OK has been set and what packages were paid to the last manager etc etc. My guesses are that the chairman has said to OK to trim the squad to X amount and we will support you with X amount of spend. We will have made a loss yes, though that's not to say the board have not allowed room for additional funds for one or two more this window to boost our chances of survival.
