If he plays as well as Smith did in the last 6 months, he will be a hero and legend.

Good luck dude.

Hope to see you lift the Cup at Hampden in May.

Probably relegatit tae but that will be forgiven.

Bine ați venit la club. Vă urez succes.  (he doesn't understand English)

I wonder what is in place ("translators" wise) to make sure the communications on the park are clear.

When I played abroad there were a team of people who not only taught me their language, but got me up to speed with the on the on the park calls.

We don't need any communications crossed wires

As long as he can understand "mark that prick" and "man on" he should be fine

Tbf he was interviewed the other night and his English was pretty good! Not perfect but I'm sure he'll pick it up. Hand gestures work in any language

N Ireland - St Mirren, does kicking the ball back to them in training count?
Isle of Man - 3rd Paisley BB
England - 3rd Paisley BB
Spain - Gallowhill Select
Italy - Cockles Wilson on Tour

No fear of that with me Sweeper.

Never could play football....although I was asked to go for a trial with Dunfermline when Jock Stein was manager. I didn't go. Told the scout I was useless. His answer was that he had seen me play against the local Junior Team and that I was  big, strong and would clearly run through brick walls if asked.

Mind you, Dunfetmline Rugby Club - then a leading club also ask me to play when I left school but I said no. I had played Rugby.

Preferred Athletics.  You didn't get paid for them then so I turned down coaching specialising as a hammer thrower.  Ian Black took the offer up instead and won medals at the Commonwealth Games.

I know from speaking with other posters that there is a wealth of experience in different areas.  What connects us is our love of Things St Mirren.

But we can be hard on each other sometimes.

Sounds like a prison gang tournament

“Right lads, semi final draw: Gallowhill Select versus Ferguslie Park XI...sorry, Feegie...and Seedhill Offenders versus Shortroods Gang Bangers”
