Bud the Baker Posted January 26, 2019 Report Share Posted January 26, 2019 (edited) Those of us with long mammaries will recall the Mac Brothers and their lugubrious prose/commentary were the inspiration for original Only an Excuse, back when it was on the wireless - and funny. Having said that compared to the ex-pros who make up most of the sports media these days they were indeed Olympian characters. Bill started one of his Laidlaw stories with a murder in the Bristol Bar across from where I work. We won't see their like again and on balance that makes me rather sad - RIP boyz!
