Your First Car

Mine was a Brown Coloured Austin Allegro.

My wee pride and joy.

Got me to my work and back in Kilmarnock sometimes.

Wrote it off, rear ending a Jehovah Witnesses Car on Corkerhill Road, in 1984.

Circumstances of crash meant I was not at fault.

Moved onward and upwards with my next vehicle.

Royal Blue Morris Marina Estate.

Serious question, How can so many of yous remember there car reg numbers from so long ago....

Right now I've 2 cars work/family and I couldn't tell you any of them without having to look....

Strange,isn't it?

I'd have to go outside for a look to tell you my current number.

I do know the number of my Honda jeep...... OW 53 NLM  as in Oh Wow 53, Nae Luck Mate. Which, as I am now 57 shows how long I have had it!
But I dont remember any between my first and this one.
The first.....bought from chairman of Manchester City Peter Swales.......light blue Triumph Toledo, ODM 862P

I have a photograph of my car numberplate on my phone.

But my first car was NFG 28

Otherwise known as Never Flaming Goes.

I think it's because when the rozzers pulled you over back then the first question they asked was if you knew the reg number, presumably to check if you'd nicked it. So the first thing I did when I got a new motor was to memorise that.
