djchapsticks
Boy has looked very decent whenever I've seen him. Hopefully this kicks him on a wee bit.
Sweeper07
He needs to build up experience at a higher level than reserves - so this is a really good move for him and for St. Mirren. All the best Cammy . . .
santaponsasaint
Him and Ethan easily the best 2 young players at the club at mo. But watch out for Scott Glover and Kyle Docherty. Both have great ability. Good luck to Cameron at Stenny.
Lord Pityme
Doesnt this confirm the 'self harm' being done to young talent at the club by filling the squad up with Euro Loanees etc, who will be off to a sunny beach come May, safe in the knowledge they'll be back at their parent club next term? how does going from getting minutes in our premiership season, to being farmed out to Stenhousemuir improve his development? Every club loan players out for experience of more competitive playing time. Why should we be any different? At this time our manager does not see them ready for the pressure of fighting relegation and rightfully sees more experience needed in the first team. Throwing young players into the side at the wrong time can be detrimental if they are not physically or psychologically ready irrespective of promised talent. Because it allows us to see if he can handle the step up, and gives him greater experience of playing 1st team football. I’d say playing 10 - 15 games for Stenny will be far more beneficial to him in the long term than the odd cameo for us this season. Physically, you can see that he’s not quite ready for this level. It’s a pretty common thing and has been for a long time. We’ve had a couple out all season...and heading to Preston didn’t do David Beckham much harm at all. so, nah. It doesn’t confirm the self harm.

And when our crew of mercaniries are gone, and Cameron is still without top level experience, what next? We have been successful in recent years in developing young talent, by getting them playing for the first team. 17 year old Erahon being only the latest example. if young players see their opportunities with us limited as we fill the side with loaners, then they will choose to be developed elsewhere. We have been down this fruitless road before, and Gus was the main one to stifle young talent! what a coincidence... not.

If these Euro loaness keep us in the premiership We should all throw in £10 and send them to a beach in the Caribbean. One of those all inclusive deals. You don't seem to grasp the FACT that some players are ready and others are not for the massive step up from under 21's or reserve football to the Premiership OR even to League 1 . . Guys Like Ethan and MacPherson are capable of playing in our team right now - Cammy is not quite there yet. Guys like Riordan went down the leagues before he came back to Hibs, starred and then won a transfer to the Tic. i.e. he had not been ready for the 1st team, he gained experience and he improved. That is why Cammy and Conor are out at Stenny for now - it is not guaranteed either - but it is good management and good for the lads too . . . I feel for the loaners - they have no pals - if we fill the side with them they will be a rotten team - in football you need to communicate and work together...
