Do well Scott.

Scott signs on loan from Saints

SAFC Squad News

Stirling Albion are delighted to announce the signing of St Mirren midfielder Scott Glover on loan until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old’s arrival means we now have our maximum permitted allowance of four loans at any one time – the others being Calum Ferrie (Dundee), Ronan Hughes (Hamilton Accies) and Neil McLaughlin (Motherwell).

Scott linked up with Kevin Rutkiewicz’s squad this evening ahead of Saturday’s Ladbrokes League 2 game against Berwick Rangers at Shielfield.

Excellent move for Scott and for the Saints - 1st team experience in League Two.

Despite all the moans about our strategy - it looks like there are lots of good and wise things going on.

We just need some positive results and to move about our 2 relegation rivals before the last fixture is over this season :spud6

Does the transfer window not apply to these clubs?

If it did, how could they have signed him?

Here is a statement on it -

Under the new rules, temporary transfers have to be completed in the windows with clubs allowed four in any window.

There is a slight dispensation for League 1 and 2 clubs, with the windows for temporary transfers extended by one month – until the last day of September and February respectively.

That clears it up then

I'm not complaining - just wondering why all these loans are going through to smaller division clubs.   There was Breadner to Stenhousemuir as well a few days ago.

This is normality. Might as well see if these guys are any good at a lower level before deciding if they are good enough for us.

Good luck Scott, hope he thrives at Stirling.

League One and Two clubs tend to have smaller squads as they run on smaller budgets. This extra month allows them to pick up players once the dust has settled in the clubs who are in higher Leagues. Then they can also have another 4 weeks playing time to sign replacements if they pick up injuries during this time too.

For once a rule that helps those further down the food chain :happyclapper
