One loss in nine, three points off second, two wins off the top. f**k me its disaster for Ross. Lol

Be interesting to compare ours and Sunderland's fortunes come the end of October?

Or only won 4 from 9, funny things stats.

Should, with the resources that Sunderland have, scooshed that league.

He seems not have the ability to turn draws into wins, the very thing you have been banging on about for us.

Draws were their downfall last season, already looking like it will be again, having drawn 4 from 9.

I'd take the draws for us, rather than than the "unlucky" defeats!

Jack Draws will mould his team and start to pull away from the pack. He's had one season where the club have been offloading the 30-40000 a week players, now he has a chance to settle in a team. Nearly promoted in his first season and in a cup final... yeah we are faring so much better in the fecking playoffs and being unable to beat non league teams!

Time will tell, if he gets the chance to finish the league campaign.

Drawing with the team at he bottom of the league doesn't look like a manager you're describing.

Even he admitted he had failed last season.

As for us, what's that got to do with Ross?

Whilst I’m with you all the way on the fact that you can spin stats pretty much whatever way you like, I don’t necessarily subscribe to the old “with their resources they should be skooshing the league” argument. My main reason for not subscribing to that argument is because I haven’t the first clue what Sunderland’s resources are or how they compare to other teams in the league and I strongly suspect that neither do the vast majority of folk who spout that line. Most of them just heard someone else say it or are making assumptions based on Sunderland’s historical significance.

The resources, in attendances alone, are 10,000 each home game above the next best team.

That alone brings in a whopping amount of revenue that other league one teams can only dream about.

While there are many factors that can add to revenue streams this gives Sunderland a massive financial advantage.

Nothing to do with "historical significance", more to do with revenue every home game.

I’m with Faraway on this.

I want JR to do well down south. He’s done a great job of building a side who rarely lose. However the draws are costing them, and that will be his downfall. They should have eased to the title last season, and they should be doing so again this season (or at the very least, getting promoted). I know he had some squad building and sorting to do when he started there, but they are a massive club in a small pond, and these draws will be the end of him. I really hope he can change it soon, but something just doesn’t seem to be clicking to turn the draws to wins.

I did say most folk 🤣

Although in all seriousness it might not be possible to just immediately utilise that advantage. It may take time. Also attendance is only relevant to the top line. I suspect we have no idea of the expenditure of the club. A club with much lower attendances may also have much lower expenditure and therefore greater disposable income. Who knows. Secco get 50k attendance every other week but they’re still feckin skint 🤣

Using the attendance argument would suggest that Man Utd should be pissing all over Liverpool at the moment. Just don’t think it’s as simple as that.

Aye but they were up until a few weeks ago paying ten to fifteen times more to some players than the league one average. Plus they have had to spend a fortune on mutuals. I would say going forward they will be considerably better off than the rest of the league.

they've only really bought one established player in Grigg, and he's more damp squib than on 🔥
