stlucifer
Great result yesterday. The fact we have it in our own hands is remarkable given where we were just a few weeks ago. Another cup final dealt with, Four more to go.

That would be good for us, but cannot see that happening. The guy they brought on did not look too bad - they just were a man down which curtained their adventuring up the park a bit. They will still have 11 against the Hammers. To be honest, I don't care if it ends in a draw - so long as the Hammers don't win - not only from our point of view, but so that the following week Dee still have something, all be it the last chance saloon, still to play for against them. Kemp
Looking at the clip there, Erhanon should have been sent off again. Not sure why we keep playing him out at left back, he is a great talent for the future but that isn't his position. These lunging tackles also suggest he doesn't have the composure we need at this time of the season.
Ayrshire Saints
I'm a big fan of artificial surfaces in general but the way that ball bounced and moved was very odd throughout. That cost them Mullen's goal at least.Lack of watering which I assume is tactical. Those pitches require thorough soaking to be optimum. Th opposition player actually kicks the sole of Erhahon's boot. He needs to cut out that reckless type of tackle. Hopefully Muzek will be back in for the St.J game. santaponsasaint
Great 3 points yesterday. Thought Ryan Flynn was outstanding again. But no one had a bad game to be fair. Mullen scored a great goal. That plastic pitch is atrocious. For anybody to say there a fan of these pitches knows nothing about pro football at the top level. Other clubs like us have hybrid pitches and every one of them are in too notch condition. Time the SFA done something about it. Coys. Reads the game and breaks up opposition play and so composed on the ball; the kind of ‘balls’ we need for the run in. Not everyone was at their absolute best but a great team performance yesterday with the fans acting as our 12th man, even when we went behind. Don’t want to tempt fate, but we’re in good shape at the moment.

If there isn't going to be an outright ban on these pitches then they need to at least be maintained to a minimum standard. There's no doubt Hamilton and Livingston intentionally maintain the surfaces in terrible condition in order to act as a leveller against better opposition. It makes a laughing stock of our national sport.
Doakes
I can't say I blame Livi for taking advantage tbf, look at their league position I think we're too nice to bigger clubs, should be growing the grass when we play them

norman
The pitch wasn't great to be honest. It was definitely very dry, which may have been on purpose, which made it very sticky, held the ball up, and made the bounce much softer than you'd expect. In saying that, I'm not sure it ended up being a huge disadvantage to us to be honest. At the start Livi played it better as we weren't used to it, but later on we were killing them dropping balls in behind them down each flank which were holding up each time. I also reckon the pitch was a big factor in them going down to ten men. On a normal grass pitch or a well watered artificial that ball rolls through to the keeper. Special mention to Jackson when he came on and really gave them problems with his running. And Magennis is on 10 secs and blasts a shot at goal something Lyons didn't do in the previous 75 mins. But why, oh why Oran are you still playing Ethan? Musek is a far superior player on the left. Ethan cost us their goal due to his usual not picking up his man. Paul McGinn deservedly MoM. Only 4 more to go now and we are on a roll. Lyons was brought down for the sending off, had 1 shot and 1 header just off target.

Pitches like Hamilton and Livingston have are cheap sub-standard shite and are fitted with money making in mind as opposed to promoting decent football. They can also be "manipulated" to suit the home teams, as we saw yesterday. There's a reason why most of the top teams in Europe and all the EPL tams have hybrid pitches (95% grass: 5%.synthetic). This type of pitch is the way forward. Sadly they cost much more than the "greengrocer" surface. A well maintained grass pitch is streets ahead of the aforementioned Hamilton and Livingston pitches, which have no place in top flight football. Sadly the SFA are f**king incompetent and allow these sub-standard surfaces in the top league. That's not to say that some grass surfaces in the past have been awful, but as Motherwell have shown, that can be overcome.

I thought that at first, but Lyons played the ball first and was then brought down by contact from Halkett's knee/thigh, before his leading leg even enters the picture. Halkett's meek acceptance of the decision speaks volumes.
