How hard is it shull to make a decent, traditional strip?minutes, just look old pictures of good strips we had in the past and copy, rather than take weeks to think up some absolute fuk ups,as a said before, every season ask for fans to send in idea's,then narrow it down to 3 and let fans vote, not that walloper from the board and his fashion brigade pals decide, again they have fuked up but they think they have done great, unbelievable

That walloper from the board is a very real danger - he's responsible for the family stand being sold to OF scum without consulting the ST holders who sat there, also responsible for the barcode strip and the limited access fans bar. I suspect he is also responsible for the seat allocation at the last game - funny how all the seats (usually occupied by ST holders) near the hospitality suite were the first to be snapped up when a "glitch" on the ticketing site meant anyone could buy any seat they wanted, but "luckily" it meant more money could be made from selling hospitality packages, somebody reserved all those seats as soon as they went on sale. He will trample over anyone if he thinks he can make a quick buck.

Alan Wardrop and his fellow Board Members designed our new Black and White Top.

Alan apparently loves it.

Why don't they all hold a Press Conference and apologise for the monstrosity they put on show yesterday?

Then bin the strips and bring out a St Mirren one.

Unforunately Alan will not listen to anyone.

It's not about an 'old' or 'new' strip, it's about IDENTITY. - what people recognized as a St Mirren strip.  If the club can't come back to ask  the fans their opinion on something as basic as this then the concept  of community club is a facade.
It's a black and white striped football top with a St. Mirren badge on the chest. Not sure what more it needs for identity.
In over 40 years we've always had this with 3 (?) exceptions - 87 Cup winning Jersey, the tribute to it a couple of seasons ago and the half and half blackburn effort from the 90s.
As you'd expect there are variations on the number of stripes from season to season. This year's is similar to my favorite from the 80s, the Adidas one with 2 black stripes and a graham's buses logo.

He will ruin the club if he ever achieves his ambition to be chairman.

Really?

It was entirely due to the appointment of Tommy Craig and the shite signings that he made.

Anyway, it's a moot point. The season's strips a nowhere near as poor as that season's efforts.

Of course not really

As you've discovered reading these pages there are differing opinions on what constitutes a 'St Mirren' strip.  What I drew attention to at the very beginning of this thread was our 'Rangers' styled socks we had last season which, for me, was outside the confines of what most of us would consider as being 'St Mirren'.  Regarding the jersey, your preference is for the two stripe design - fine.  My preference is for more stripes.  As with succeeding generations, the choice tends to gravitate into tradition and modernity on how designs emerge.  Clearly, in recent years the modern (perhaps driven by commercialism) design has been uppermost in the club's choice.

As I've said all along, whatever strip is decided upon, let the fans contribute to that decision.  No big deal.

Grudgingly, I think the club may have got this right.

I hate the strip but I am 62 years old so unlikely to wear it. My grandson loves it. He will be getting it ASAP. If it transpires that this is the norm then they've hit their target audience.

He isn't quite so keen on the away strip but still wants it.

Hitching a ride with a passing bandwagon. Should generate a lot of positive publicity and potential for significant additional income.
