Would Bielsa/Leeds have done the same if they retained a genuine prospect of finishing second and gaining automatic promotion - in similar circumstances I wouldn't expect Saints to. Unfortunately too many fannies stay on the ground “injured” after the slightest touch. As a result I wouldn’t fell inclined to “kick the ball out” as you don’t know if they really are hurt most of the time. It was a perfectly legit goal IMO, and the Villa players were thick for stopping when the referee hadn’t said to, and Leeds still had the ball on the pitch. Bielsa is a tit for telling his team to let Villa equalise. There is no obligation to put the ball out, and if you do, the other team is under no obligation to give the ball back.
