Meal provision isn’t a thing during the holidays Do people really expect the government to pick up the tab for absolutely everything ? 100% wages , feed kids at school and home etc ? Some people should consider cutting back on alcohol, cigarettes, sky tv packages and make some personal adjustments to tighten their belts and perhaps we can then direct additional much needed help to those most in need. We cannot simply cover this with a blanket approach. Except for viewers in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

Bud the Baker
As Brexit (apologies to @antrin) approaches Tory MPs again vote in the hope of facilitating a Trump friendly Trade deal even as it becomes increasingly likely Biden will win... Quote MPs have for a second time overturned measures from peers aimed at protecting UK food standards in future trade deals. The House of Commons voted 331 to 272, majority 59, to disagree with a House of Lords amendment to the Agriculture Bill which sought to ensure imported foodstuffs met equivalent benchmarks to those followed by UK producers. This would have related to animal welfare, environmental protection and food safety.
Bud the Baker
Let them eat fishcake... Quote SCOTLAND'S fishing chiefs are among food and drink industry leaders who have written to Boris Johnson with a list of demands to help them deal with Brexit, including financial compensation for any damage from a No-Deal outcome. Their other demands include: * That the UK Government must negotiate a six-month “grace period” from the end of the transition period to allow businesses to adjust to the new trading rules. * Finalise operational arrangements for enabling the smooth passage for seafood consignments across the Channel (Operation Brock) and at other ports; and a commitment from the UK Government that its new procured ferry service capacity can be used for exporting seafood consignments if required. beyond our ken
Boris now conveniently self-isolating to allow the questions about Cummings departure wither away and more importantly it keeps him out of the firing line as the Brexit shitstorm lands on the rest of us. It might even give him the excuse to retire on "health" grounds in January as he plans his book and speaking engagements tour.

I reckon we'll sign an "Australian" type deal with the EU this week allowing BJ to drop the Internal Market Bill and thus negotiate a Trade Deal with the the new Potus - Irish Joe. All of this will be presented as a triumph that could not have been delivered by anyone other than our greatest PM since Churchill. If the current lockdown in combination with the imminent vaccines drives down the pandemic I can indeed see BJ going in the spring - just not on health grounds but as I predicted in September triumphantly, claiming Brexit completed, Covid defeated. I also noted at the time that his predecessor TM is charging £100k a speech and that BJ would be keen to pick up a slice of that, a lucrative book deal & a few plum directorships kerching - after all who can survive on the PMs measly salary of £150k!
