That's it?

Because I have a different opinion it's a moan?

Thanks for your time, it's been fun. :byebye

No, it's a moan because it was a moan - as it always is. I can accept opinions from fans who attend... you don't come under this.

They(sevco) have lost 1 game in nearly 20 in all competitions. Time some supporters had a reality check.

3pts and conceding 2 goals from our 3 difficult opening fixtures is a good start and something to build upon.

Absolutely & they’ve given a few teams a fair tanning already this season.

Another of life's happy clapping accept defeat before a ball is kicked losers...jog on...

Every post you put on here is dire, all you do is moan. Go find something else to do on match days & stop your greeting. ffs obviously football isn’t for you.

We’re you actually at the game yesterday?

I would broadly agree.  When we broke, there was little pace on offer and some players were trapping a ball further than I could kick it.  So it won't be long before most of the other clubs suss that we are happy to sit deep and still lack a credible scoring threat.

It's really hard to see where goals will come from

Goodwin's tactics for me were spot on in our first three games. Who would have thought we would be sitting with 3 points and 2 goals against.  Goodwin has said our games with rivals will be completely different from our perspective in other words attacking.

What a lot of garbage.

Next time we'll set up 3-4-3 and lose 5-0 but at least we'll get value for money, eh?

Yes..at least if we have a fecking go to win the game, going home happy after losing only 1-0 stinks of settling for 2nd best...

For most of last season we were so dire in defence that we were well beaten before the half time whistle.
Three league games into this season, all of them fixtures against big clubs, and our defence still hasn't conceded a goal before half time.
We are definitely heading in the right direction under Jim Goodwin.

Stop taking positives from the games & seeing it for what it is, some don’t like it & forget we are St Mirren.

No doubt Rangers were the better team yesterday and deserved their win. However it really is fine margins ...... a cross that hit the bar with McGregor nowhere, a stick on pen not given and a sitter missed towards the end. Had any one of them gone in our favour, who knows. We are a far more organised unit under Goody and think that augers well for the season ahead.

If tactics were spot on we would have won the three games!

Silly question, but were you at any of the games or even watch them on TV?

We had chances to take at least two more points from these games. I don't think we were that close last season.

Further, we have strengthened the squad on a game to game basis despite losing access to S McGinn and Cody Cooke through injury.

The tactics have been fine. More of the same plus a little more up front and the season's challenges will be one's that we can look forward to.

Why are people still going on about the penalty decision? Dare has even referred to it as “stick on”.

It wasn’t a penalty. Obika accidentally clipped the heels of the defender and as he fell, he brought Obika down. The ref got the decision spot on.

I agree that on a lucky day it might have been given, but that doesn’t make it a penalty. And those lucky days rarely if ever come against the OF.

3 of the 4 penalties at Ibrox last season were far less of a penalty than Obika's appeal on Sunday.

They weren’t “less of a penalty”. None of them were penalties. I’m not sure i get your point. Because Dallas made errors, Clancy should’ve made up for it yesterday? Is that what you’re saying?

I'd say Sunday's was 50/50 , seen them given many times. Dallas just cheated us.

First foul was committed by Obika so it’s not a pen wether you have seen penalties given for players being pulled down means nothing because the first foul there was committed by us.

Same as the free kick rangers scored should have been given to us as the first foul there was committed by Defoe.

"Goodwin's tactics" ; "where will goals come" from blah blah...

After the 2nd in a row summer debacle, followed by a cr*p Cup campaign, and having played 3 League games against Hibs, The Don's and The mob - we have 3 points, 2 goals against and 1 goal for - - AND Goodwin has only had a couple of months to bring 11 players in and begin to get to know them...

The real proof in the pudding is how it pans out over the season though. So for all those fans who are pinning everything on beating Livi, Ross, County and Hamilton in our next 3 games, I really do hope it works out and we pick up 7 or 9 points... BUT if it does not, it will still be very early days...

I do expect we will get goals from Obika, Morias, Andreu, McAllister, Durmus, Magennis, and the odd one from a few others... we have played 3 top 5 sides so far...

Also expect that we will have more than 1 formation and tactic . . .  we will get goals and so long as we can mostly restrict the opposition to 1 goal, we will have a chance of points in most games... :guinness

It’s worth remembering Goodwin spent the whole of last season with the weaker, part time team in the Championship, leading them to safety and a total of around 40 Points. Every week they were playing stronger opposition - Goody clearly did a decent job with his tactics because on paper that Alloa side should have easily been relegated. Nor were they saved by having a Brechin to cover their backsides, the club who went down still accumulated 37 points.

Goodwin has been on both ends with Alloa, from being a decent League One side to being a weak Championship side, and he’s succeeded in both. His tactics against the Zombies were excellent at limiting their opportunities against us, indeed it took a fantastic free kick to deny us a point. He stated himself he wanted to see more on the attacking side of things. He knows exactly how he wants us set up, but it doesn’t mean it’s going to come off every game. The guy knows how to take these games on, this is a Sevco side who had recently put 6 past Hibs and scored plenty against a decent Danish side who would probably ease to 3rd in our league. It didn’t come off for us this time, but he’s capable of leading us to some good results this season and I have every faith in him after his impressive Alloa achievements.
