St.Ricky
Frank MacAvennie - I think he came from a Junior team at about 22 years of age. Got much more than expected. He was electric!

Old Weiserbud
One for us oldies - Gerry Baker. Overshadowed by his brother, but what an impact he made when he arrived. Mind you, he did have Bryceland and Gemmell either side of him.
Cornwall_Saint
Gavin Reilly. Came to us from an uninspiring spell at Hearts, and his loan spell at Dunfermline during that time didn’t excite either. Then next thing you know, he’s hit he 20 goal mark and it’s only January. A goal tally we hadn’t seen since Barry Lavety. I don’t think anyone expected him to be as prolific as he was.
insaintee
Wasn't that fussed when Goodwin signed to be honest. Not another hardworking midfielder did we not all ready have Murray and Thomson and Mason. (and Cregg?) why did we need another one.
Magic Monkey
I'm going to say Gary Teale. It's easy to assume that players of a certain pedigree and age who join us are going to be on the wrong side of 'washed up' but that man was quality. According to Wiki Goody joined us in January 2011, while Cregg was only contracted until the same month (but didn’t sign for Bury until August 2011). We definitely had Shuggie, but can’t remember if Goodwin was a straight replacement for Cregg or if he remained until the season finished. That being said, I don’t think anyone expected Goody to end up playing over 150 games for us, captain us to our first major trophy in 26 years and be in high demand to come and manage us one day (which is obviously the reality now).
