Most famous for his stint in Cream (1966-68) who were in the vanguard of the movement which formed rock and rendered the rules that had governed pop music until then obsolete. On a personal note he hit me with his drumsticks whilst performing with Hawkwind at the Glasgow Apollo in 1981.
