Jack Ross brings his Hibs team on Tuesday night

Appreciate his work for us, but not enough to gift him 3 points

Much needed win today

Hope we all enjoy the rest of the weekend emoji4.png

My sentiments exactly.  A win on Tuesday takes us to the heady heights of 7th place.

GFITT.

Great win but let's not get carried away. Just watched the game on alba. First half especially one or two passes then a long ball giving possession back, limited number of goal attempts throughout game with few troubling keeper. Second half much better with more passes before long ball, better penetration but overall we still look like a team that will struggle to score. Feel confident about getting results at home, especially given attitude of players second half but it is essential that we start winning points away. Hibs will be tough

Watched the play back on Alba. And let's just take the three points and crack on. That was all that really mattered today and the the team dug it out.

Thanx - was at work today and didn't realize it was on the telly.

Will record it and watch tomorrow when my shifts have finished.

JG spoke for about 10 minutes or so in the 1877 post-match, explained that Magennis trained yesterday but that was his first in 5 days after taking a heavy knock v Hearts. With the Hibs game coming up they were taking care of him; He was honest enough to say that sometimes substitutions work, sometimes don't but was pleased that McAllister and Andreu were involved in the winner and praised the fans to the high hilt.

Sam Foley also spoke well, said the team spirit was tremendous and that he's loving his time here.

Some positives, some negatives.
3 points, 1 home loss all season, 2 GA at home all season, upto 10th, Hearts still in trouble with no sign of a solution, St Johnstone and Hamilton in well in the mix too.
Always look on the bright side.

Livi definitely still in the mix, too.

Don't forget Ross County.

Really important to have got in amongst the pack. Another 3 points in Tuesday would really set us up for a decent season.

Also heartening to see County struggling now after a good start: 0 wins in their last 8. Livingston also beginning to look poor: after going undefeated their first 4 games, they've only won 1 out of 10 and that was 2-0 v Celtic when Christie was sent off early on.

On paper, both teams we should be finishing above.

What I was hoped for, apart from the 3 points was for a number of our players to play nearer to the best of their abilities :-

Foley, MacLoughlin, Flynn and Obika did that. (The big man caused both their CB's loads of hassles and they both were booked - it could have been worse for them too.)

Gary MacK was solid apart from at their goal, but he did play a part in one of ours too.

Thought Durmus had a great game - never stopped and covered back well too. Missed a great chance and should have cut the ball back to Foley at one point, but it was his cross that led to MacLoughlin's goal and he was involved in the build up for the second too.

Magennis covered a lot of ground, but not as creative as we would like - but not had the best of weeks.

Both FB's were okay, Mullen had a poor game and Hladky did what he had to, except for at their goal. (It was well placed though)

Andreu and McAllister were okay too, with Andreu passing to Foley for the winner.

Stevie M not on long enough . . .

For me the other point of note was JG set up and tactics. Brought in 3 players to the starting 11 today.  MacK (forced), Durmus, and Flynn(big choice) - they all played really decent and showed they want to take their chance and be in the starting 11. I thought we were not at our best for a wee while around and after their goal, but the half time team talk sent us out with only one plan - take the 3 points, and we did... He has had it tough for obvious reasons, but today deserves some praise.  :cheers

Well deserved victory. Dominated the second half. Our strikers were well below par. Foley, McKenzie and Flynn were our best players.

Saying all this and delighted as I am in the result, we will need to step it up a gear if we want anything from Tuesday's game v Hibs.
