Bud the Baker
Rich Hall's Countrier Than You on BBC4 tonight at 9:30pm - probably a less reverential look at the genre than most...…...🪕 Edited April 3, 2020 by Bud the Baker

Bud the Baker
Great show last night especially for them as likes their Country music bark at the moon style....🐕
salmonbuddie
Ignore the band name if it offends you (they're Americans) but this is a tune and a half!

THAT IS a BELTER!!! Thank you. Just hope that such energy could be transmitted to Keir Starmer - who has a shitload of serious work to get stuck into... Bud the Baker
Watched TOTPs Country Jukebox & it was immensely disappointing and annoying! Disappointing that so much of the show originally broadcast in the mid-naughties was full of crossover acts like Lee Anne Rhymes, Shania Twain Karl Urban - I like my country "bark at the moon"! 🌙🐕 Highlight of the program for me was a solo acoustic version of Always On My Mind by Willie Nelson from of all places Wogan! Annoying was Steve Wrong talking over the end of many of the songs especially Coward Of The County when after dealing with the Gatlin Boys, Tommy rephrases his daddy's advice. Would've loved to have heard an Elvis version of Dolly's I Will Always Love You but The Colonel's insistence on a share of songwriting royalties scuppered that. Final thought - are The Dixie Chicks country?
