BuddieinEK
Couldn't quite make the Century. Had a great go at it. The man is a true broadcasting legend.Presenter of the longest running radio series in the world, he has been at the helm in Just a Minute for 53 years!Regular at the Edinburgh Fringe into his nineties, giving many people starting off their break via his Fringe show.I met him 8 years ago at the Fringe. Could not have been any nicer. When he found out I worked for a charity, he gave me a signed copy of his memoirs to auction off for funds.RIP[emoji25][emoji25][emoji25]

Guest TPAFKATS
Never heard anyone in "showbiz" or any "normal person" like BinEK have anything but compliments towards the guy.Seems to have been a genuinely lovely chap.Bit of trivia regarding him - apparently served his apprenticeship in a Glasgow shipyard. I think.Don't think I've ever been mistaken for "normal" before! [emoji12]He served his apprenticeship in an engineering plant in Clydebank shipyard making pumps. He talked about it in his memoirs... A posh spoken gangly boy with all those rough tough Glaswegians! He won them over with humour, impersonating the bosses.A great grounding for his career. His book is a great read.
