northstbuddie
Which team would you like to see turn up at most matches? The team which performed v Hibs (especially in the first half) or the one which competed against Aberdeen - ie positive or negative tactics? Hamilton were really stretching Celtic yesterday with their adventurous play until the red card and gave an indication that they could be a very real attacking threat to us on Wednesday evening. They 'say' they will attack, as a draw is not much use to them, but will they try to frustrate us with negative defensive tactics and hit on the break (like we do against the 'bigger teams)? Does defensive tactics not just pass the initiative to the other team or is there a place and time for parking the bus? My own view is that a negative/defensive approach might help the goal difference but achieve little else in terms of points gained..
Eric Arthur Blair
Probably both, especially if they score first.
guinness
We do not have enough pace about the team to play counter attacking football. We need to press forward and try to create chances as our conversion rate is poor.Could be new guy we have yet to see is pacy and might help us change tactics. Time will tell. DougJamie
Lets not forget, Hamilton play on a totally crap pitch, and all teams have to adjust, they also have defenders out and they are going into this game having conceded 10 goals and no wins since we came back. This is a team on the slide, and we have to go for it, 3 points is a total must as lets not forget,. we don't want 11 th again either
St.Ricky
My preference would be an all out attacking blitz but 8 doubt that would be successful. In truth, we need to be clever and vary our tactics during the game so I expect a bit of both. Hamilton are losing more goals than previously. northstbuddie
We got the Dr Jekyll version against Hibs and it was a joy to watch but I feel it was down to a lack of concentration on MacPherson and/or Durmus' part (2 of our best performers on the day) for their failure pick up Scott Allan in the middle of the park thus allowing him acres of room to set up the move for his goal. This lack of concentration was not down to the tactics being applied and neither was it in the case of Hibs' second goal when Morias failed to control the ball just outside our 18 yard line. Mistakes or lack of concentration can be punished anywhere on the park but if you are parked in your own penalty box that's where they are likely to occur. Will be interesting to see how we vary play with the new lads on board.
