St Mirren v Hearts Friday 21 Feb

Massive win. Saints were up for it straight from the start. I have no idea how Hearts managed to beat Sevco and Hibs recently, they were very poor and look like a team with no desire to fight for survival. Six minutes injury time was a bit nerve wracking, but in all truth Hearts never looked like scoring.

Not a great game of football but a magnificent effort from whole team throughout. Hearts created virtually nothing all night and makeshift defence dealt with it. Obika was a handful and took goal well. Hint of use of arm? Will take a bit of luck if so. The three injuries are worrying. Goodwin suggested two could be long term so could affect run in as we have limited options. A lot of football left this season but we are good enough, just to avoid bottom two places. Can see Ross county ending up with hearts or Hamilton in bottom two. More of the attitude displayed tonight will see us stay up

Tactically spot on from Goodwin (if a little deep late on).

Football played on the deck, forward at pace - as it should be. Solid no nonsense defending to accompany.

Foley and Famewo were immense at the back. Wallace - class oozing out him in the middle again.

No failures whatsoever in the team, but I think biggest credit goes to Obika, Waters and McGrath - all 3 have had absolute pelters at times - but all 3 really battled well tonight. We be positive and win our individual battles, we win games.

On train back to Langside. We were the better team by some way and totally deserved the win.

Of course the obligatory panic stations finale catered for all blood pressure requirements [emoji846]

Hopefully the injuries aren't serious; if we can get a win at Rugby park on Saturday, they are right back in both our sights and the relegation fight.

Magic!

Are you joking me, he played brilliant in CM, getting stuck in and winning a fair few balls.

He did win a few balls but I thought he was not at his best overall - I never expected him to have an even better game at CB after his 2 errors in the last match...Thought MacPherson was even better at times before he went off...

It should be mentioned that our defence, no need to single out anyone, have done it again.

Still, despite getting pumped by Celtic, one of the best records in the league. :clapping

And for being badly short of options too!

Goodwin on Radio says -
Mccarthy is a Hamstring injury,
Mcpherson is a dead leg that swelled up alot after he left pitch,
Durmus is a tweak on his groin.

Might be lucky if 1 of them make it Saturday with those injuries and playing on the plastic pitch.

Also on Radio Stendel praised St Mirren fighting qualities and also said to go 1-0 down here with the fans getting right behind the team was always going to be difficult.

Great battling performance. As usual Foley was superb. Cant remember Hladky making a save. Thought our 2 full backs rose to the challenge. Was talking to Foley and Hodson in the executive club area and they were saying. Conor being subbed was precariously was feeling his hammy. And the two others were impact injuries and should be alright for Sat. Great 3 points. On to Killie. Coys
