Was trying to think how many games have been postponed at the new stadium. So I looked it up at http://www.stmirrenprogrammes.co.uk/

For the record, it turns out it's five in eleven years, plus one abandonment, mainly due to Derek Adams greeting at being 2-0 down and Willie Collum finding the one spot on the park where the ball wouldn't bounce.

09/10 Aberdeen - Ice/Snow

13/14 Ross County - Abandoned - rain

15/16 QoS - Rain

15/16 Raith - Late call off after heavy snow

16/17  Spartans - Undersoil heating chucked it

19/20 Hearts

Also, six away games postponed over the same period, at Hamilton, Hibs, Rangers, Dundee United, St Johnstone and Motherwell.

Indeed, I don’t understand what the point of a winter break is.

Jim Goodwin was saying last week how we should follow Ireland’s lead and play summer football

But Ireland’s season started last week. We’d have ended up with 2 of our first 3 games of the season postponed if we’d had a ‘summer season’

Even more so that the SPL has the winter break, yet the lower leagues who largely have no under soil heating are still expected to play, even though they are the ones likely to get hit with a frozen pitch.

Dubai is fine at this time of year. Maybe we could play our games there in January and February. Half of the league seem to be over there anyway.

We could always send Celtic and Sevco there and then leave them behind.
