Ayrshire Saints
I don't think we are going back to what was normal before this. Why if the numbers go to virtually zero, no real justification if each eased measure doesn't push figs up.
St.Ricky
It's not just a matter of the Covid Issue. It's the changes that are now seen as possible that weren't before. Including home working, flexible learning at all levels, on line meetings etc etc Why go back to what we had before might be the question to ask and answer. Guest TPAFKATS
Why if the numbers go to virtually zero, no real justification if each eased measure doesn't push figs up.Live will change in many ways even if this is eradicated and social distancing reduced. There will be a new normal, hopefully with more positives than negatives. Fair point, however there is 30 years worth of research that categorically states that productivity plummets when working from home. Our productivity was already behind the rest of Europe prior to COVID.

It's similar for all this "zoom" meetings. Serves a purpose but is not in the same league as face to face meetings and interaction. There will be some minor changes IMO but, by and large, things will return to normal.

The case for suspending the rest of school until August is easier to make but IMO this has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with the things I listed. That has definitely rattled my cage. Wrong.

The unions have not taken advantage of anything in Scotland. The unions have fully accepted the strategy outlined by the Scottish government. If anything the union stance is that the government are being over cautious. The feeling in school amongst staff is much more positive than the Scottish government and staff are bending over backwards to ensure that pupils get the best education that they can under the current restriction. Stick to panic buying bog roll, it seems that's the one thing you do know something about.

Workplaces embracing home working where possible is generally positive, as it usually has benefits. Home based learning for children is not the same; kids thrive from social interactions, which is a major reason to get the schools back full time ASAP. I thought the same but two teachers I know seem to feel that they are making more progress with some "difficult" kids online on a one to one basis. Ayrshire Saints
So shops won't be reopening up here from Thursday but a date for their reopening will be announced on Thursday. This is torturously slow progress. Looks like the only P2 moves at this review will be more social interaction.

Well the Abbey Inn on Barrhead Rd must think it is going to be soon. A member of staff was painting wooden tables and stools in the car park, and they had plastic tables and chairs in the beer garden with no space for cars. Also saw what looked like a delivery of kegs to the Craig Dhu pub.

Full framework here.................. https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-framework-decision-making-scotlands-route-map-through-out-crisis/pages/4/ I was quoting NS from her news conference today. Confirmed a date would be announced for shops opening on Thursday despite what the routemap says and she has already poo pood the beer garden part. I suppose we will know for certain which P2 arwas will be cherry picked but it looks unlikely it will be the full P2 per the guide hence the frustration. See earlier posts when you disagreed with me on her take on P2 and P3 and conditionality. Well find out for sure on Thursday. I'm certainly missing my regular meals out.
