What treatments have continued since March? I can't think of any that haven't had some disruption, other than emergency life or death interventions.

A mate of mine who'd been battling cancer for 2 years was told to self isolate, all his consultations and treatments were stopped (they assumed the big C was under control) and was put on repeat prescriptions of morphine from March till the end of June, he eventually got an appointment in early July to see his specialist were he was told his body was now riddled with the cancer, he was told there's nothing further they could do and said he would be dead in a few months, he was gone within 3 weeks....

You can only imagine the countless families up and down the country who've went through this exact situation....

I’ve done plenty of research. At the end of the day some people will just accept what they’re being told. As I said on another post, it’s what specialist are we supposed to listen to.

Fact 1. More testing = more positive cases/false positives. Would you agree with that one?

Fact 2. The death rate has fallen in Scotland at least to virtually feck all. Would you agree with that one?

Second wave. Is that a fact that it’s going to happen? No, it’s not, it’s a prediction. No doubt come flu season it’ll somehow be rebranded as COVID part 2.
You are entitled to believe what you want, listen to whichever specialist you want.
Remember. Wear your mask, wash your hands and enjoy the rest of your evening. (mind and social distance)

If you've done the research great, it didn't appear that way at all from the way you presented the questions. Anyone can have any view they want, it doesn't mean it's beyond challenge (both ways)

I agree with both facts, I don't think it's the full story or the risk is low enough to get back to normal (far from it)

I don't think anyone is claiming second wave in this country is absolute fact to happen.

As for your comments on flu season being branded Covid part 2, that seems completely unfounded, counterproductive for any government to push a flu season as covid and extremely unlikely that would be the conclusion the experts would arrive at and advise the government.

I think it's clear there is a lot of apathy from some regarding the approach taken by governments globally, that's fine. My view has been, remains and will continue to be a cautious one when it comes to protecting human life. 👍

That reads as very bazilish.

Without the utter rectitude, certitude and dismissive disdain.

nicely done.  :)

You can say your not wrong as long as you want, but as highlighted above you have actually agreed with the point several times while ever so slightly moving the goalposts to say your not wrong. Anyway I've had enough, your like bazil mk2

Nicking my patter!

in a kinda bleak, simplistic way....   :(

Nonsense from both of you then? Will put my hands up when wrong (will not pander to pedantry though) and welcome other opinions. That doesn't mean views can't be challenged. People getting their back-up when I challenge is their own issues 😁

That's tragic and also scandalous. The policy of not treating what people have for fear of what they don't have is seriously flawed.

It sure was mate, his partner thinks the morphine was masking his illness, it was only when he couldn't eat and lost the little weight he had left that the hospital decided to intervene, he completely lost the plot with his consultants when he was given the bad news, he let them know he blamed the lockdown for his situation,

Spoke too him a couple of days before he died and all he was worried about was getting his brand new TV down to his granddaughters house incase his partner claimed it..😀, He was some boy..

The relevant point is in the link I posted earlier in the thread that there was massive disruption, all non life threatening surgeries were stopped and for a period of time which is easing now the majority of general Dr appt were done over the phone.
The original point stands, the majority of people needing medical treatment didn't receive it for a period of months.

The first part is entirely correct.
The second part isn't fully accurate. People who presented and required urgent treatment were seen.

I mentioned in an earlier post, a month or more earlier...

I'm still waiting on an appointment for minor foot surgery, postponed in March because of fears of hospitals and staff being overwhelmed.

again Postponed in June, promised for July and I’m still waiting...

This Process started in September last year.

Great news!  :)

got a letter this morning.

the Op has now been re-scheduled for December.

2020... they say.

Strange post from you bazil...

in the last umpteen pages I have made no points whatsoever on either side.

neither agreed nor disagreed.

no nonsense, no pedantry, no challenges, nothing on which to be proved wrong...

Strange...

What, like helmettrolls pal?
I'm not saying everyone, I'll leave that to you.
Generally speaking though people who required urgent treatment received treatment.
We're mistakes made? Probably. Mistakes are made every day so I wouldn't expect them to stop happening during a pandemic.

Will hindsight allow a different view on how things should have been done? Probably

He just made an arse of quoting me. That was a post I wrote to someone else that he's copied rather than quoted

"That reads as very bazilish."

No it didn't, you were talking nonsense, hence why my post said you were talking nonsense...

"You can say your not wrong as long as you want, but as highlighted above you have actually agreed with the point several times while ever so slightly moving the goalposts to say your not wrong. Anyway I've had enough, your like bazil mk2"

That was also nonsense, hence why you were both talking nonsense. I then went onto clarify why any such comparisons you've both made was "nonsense"

The new buzzword is "confusion" over the quarantine rules when returning from a holiday abroad..

Are people that fecking stupid they can't understand what country they live in and the rules that country has in place?

I've already heard 2 couples who rushed back home then discovered they didn't need to..................FFS.

I know. Some people even allow a tradesman to do work in their houses without getting a full price first.

I honestly don't know how these types of people can look themselves in the mirror without feeling pangs of shame.
