The prime reason that we're approaching your absurdly, deplorably, despicably high figures is ALL down to us being utterly misled by an inept, incompetent feckless government.

People have been following what the governments have been telling them - and the instructions and advice have always been far too late, far too half hearted and far from being what the scientists have been advising them/us to do.

It isn't hard to understand why so many people just don't follow the rules.  And why so many of them and their relatives and friends are being picked off.

They are mostly making their own minds up now, which can be construed as being" sensible enough".  Thinking for themselves...

After all, if that was good enough for Dominic Cummings...

Typical response of the public failing to take ANY responsibility.

The virus doesn't spread when the government make a decision, it's spread by people who are NOT been doing what the government tell them.

More so down there in London who, as usual, seem to think they are immune and can do what they like.

Head in the sand just about covers this tragic opinion, sadly driven by a political viewpoint rather than the real truth.

Indeed.

A proper strategy, with rules actually being enforced.

Covid in Sydney: New restrictions announced as outbreak grows - BBC News

Indeed. Virtually back to normal there. Restrictions on foreign travel and proper quarantine if you do go abroad would be a small price to pay for everything else being ok.

Really?

Australia's most populous state has announced new restrictions for the Greater Sydney area in an attempt to contain a growing outbreak of Covid-19.

Household gatherings will be capped at 10 people and hospitality venues at 300 until Wednesday. Residents had already been told to stay at home.

The cases were found in the city's Northern Beaches area, which entered a five-day lockdown on Saturday.

Since then Sydney residents have rushed to leave the city ahead of Christmas.

While I agree that tougher controls of flights in/out of the UK could have helped it's, IMO, a massive red herring.

The numbers are comparatively low and many people who have been abroad have said they feel safer that at home.

The combination of errors by the governments and the general public, slowly but surely showing more and more non compliance, are major issues.

The goodwill factor has been eradicated over the months and, again IMO, the latest restrictions will see more and more people throwing caution to the wind.

Also yesterdays announcements have overshadowed the vaccine, which will increase over the next 3-4 months and start to show a reduction in cases and deaths.

PS It should also be mentioned the utter lack of consistency from so called scientists and experts who have fed the government and the public utter guff.

Hospitality venues restricted to 300. Yep, pretty much back to normal.

You are all over the place as usual.

Firstly you spend ages complaining that the restrictions are over the top bollox.

Then you say that the virus is spreading because people won't follow those rules.

shull is right about you, you really are an idiot. 🤣

Hmmmmm.

For how long have you had your immediate family in lockdown - and in which tier?

Not sure where you are going with this but by immediate family I am only including those who live in the same house as me.

We have been in various tiers and under some form of restriction since March.

We've been here before.

You seem to have a problem that people can disagree with the restrictions and can comply.

What don't you get that the sentences highlighted are entirely plausible?

As you are quite happy spreading the virus I wouldn't expect you to understand.

You've got the senile Londoner on your side, who, if you read his rants, has completely lost the plot, simply, agaoin, blaming the government when his fellow Londoners are drenched in the virus.

PS Even more amusing you agreeing with the forum loonball, well done, almost as low as you can go. :1eye

There are reports that the UK government are talking abut putting all areas under tier 4 until EASTER.

If there is any truth in this, there surely has to come a time when the general public say enough is enough with this shite.

Ans what, exactly, do you suggests.

More importantly, what would YOU do?

I suspect, as usual, not a thing.
