Numbers are split pretty even this week with  admissions  of under 60 and over 60 being equal , and with 74 under 18s being admitted

From Indie Sage lunchtime data presentation, Scottish cases are increasing, particularly in the 60+ cohort.

several graphs analyse impacts on school kids and yoof initially.

Hospital  numbers up today ,no logical reason for this trend as it was under 900 not so long ago now 1093

So, playing the "one day at as time" game, yesterday hospital numbers were down but, for some reason, you didn't post?

The trend is hospital numbers have hardly risen in the last week.

Not so long ago, a month to be precise, hospital numbers were at just over 1,300.

ICU numbers, which you always seem to overlook, have dropped over the last week.

You seem to be overly concerned with this, there could be reasons, but the vast majority are trying to forget about Covid and living our life very close to what we did just over 2 years ago.

Indie sage this week again displaying data that shows things not going well in Scotland.

infection, hospitalisation and deaths all rising. The only place in UK doing so.  :(

Charts presentation by Prof Christina Pagell starts at 3 minutes in.

only fools will drop their guard and forget about this… and should be given Darwin Awards.  Posthumously.

Well, the vast majority of the population have, all but, forgotten about this so they all must be fools, according to you. :byebye

“The vast majority”!

Now there’s a splendid example of academic rigour and fastidious research…

Let me try that…

I may be, wrong, but, constantly misplacing commas, is a, sure sign, of covid,.

Or just simple illiteracy.

Can you disprove the vast majority statement?

Do you have to to Google everything?

You're placing a misplaced comma in the "illiterate" bracket?

Oh my, you are such a sad and desperate old fool, followed around by another sad old fool.

A wise doctor said recently, to counter the panic merchants, he doesn't treat cases. 🙄

Doesn’t look like his wisdom has rubbed off on you. No one is trying to exaggerate the position other than yourself. You are of course entitled to your view.

I'm keeping our daycare centre open on a wing and a prayer.

Despite sticking to reduced numbers and maintaining a social distancing and mask wearing indoors policy, I have 1 of my team off with COVID.
He tested negative and came into work but had to be sent home after a couple of hours.
His eyes were rolling and he simply wasn't fit for work.
His partner is as bad.

Another of my team is off self isolating for 10 days as her partner tested positive and is very unwell.

My volunteer admin worker is off as a close contact.

Someone who attends our centre is unwell with COVID. His wife is in hospital with it.

What I am seeing first hand would strongly suggest this is far from a harmless cold and far from over.

Nice stories.

Here's my "first hand" experience, Daughter, son in law, daughter in law mates wife & daughter and 3 granddaughters all had it, next to nothing.

Funny that.

Also people in everyday life are getting on with life, barely a mask to be seen these days, although, until it's official, I still wear it where required.

No stories at all.
Every bit factual.

The simple and true facts are that numbers of cases, hospital admissions and cases in intensive care are rising. Clearly this puts more people at risk. The present variant hasn’t taken hospital admissions back to the highest levels experienced in the past….that is true. Doesn’t help those in hospital or ICU or perhaps those who are or will experience long Covid.

Why do you seem to have people working in your daycare centre who aren't fully vaccinated? If they are fully vaccinated, they can take daily LFTs instead of self isolating. Maybe they just want time off.

Nope
Guidelines for care staff in homes and centres are different and very clear.

She came in to work.

I was the one duty bound to send her home.

I trust my team. No chancing of the arm here I can assure you.

I should add, technically, you are correct, but I support someone with COPD and another with severe asthma, and as such, exclusions apply.

Can you point to where I can read those exclusions? They're definitely not in the latest self-isolation rules update for care staff from ScotGov.

I'm not saying don't be extra cautious, and you can choose to go above and beyond if you want, but you can't really complain about staff shortages if you are contributing to them.

People are still falling victim to this virus. Flu also around. Neither is good to get. Some folks can’t go to work , some can’t go to games or socialise. Feel lousy with either one. Glad that the mortality rate has dropped. Has my own bout of Covid over the New Year period so was lucky not to miss many games! Still feel the effects now.
