NRS stats just out.

* Scotlandโ€™s deaths below the 5 year average for the second week.

* lowest number of deaths since September 2018 (approaching 2 years ago)

* Deaths in the last 6 weeks lower than any of the weeks in 2020 before the first Covid death in Scotland

* average number of deaths in the last 10 weeks lower than the first 10 weeks of the year

* total excess deaths in Scotland this year per million of population is 812. This compares with 944 in England, so England is 16% higher. This compares with the โ€œalmostโ€ 3 times higher that @TPAFKATSย hilariously told us it was before triple downing on it.

* total deaths per million of populationย in Scotland this year stands at 1,018. This compares with 978 in England. So more people dying in Scotland this year than in England.ย
ย

First graph below compares excess deaths in Scotland and England. Second graph compares actual deaths. Slight difference in the reporting weeks between the 2 account for the timing differences of the peaks.ย

Worryingly, there is a large negative number of excess deaths in hospitals and a large number of excess deaths at home.

It could be that these deaths at home would have died in hospital anyway but it could be that manyย could have been saved and the total number of number negative excess deaths would have been greater.

Shutting down the NHS has been a catastrophe.ย The SNPโ€™s lethal lockdown policies are killing people.

I may of course be wrong but don't most deaths take place at home?ย

If true, then wearing a mask ainโ€™t going to save you

And probably explains why no scientific trial has ever been able to show that masks decrease virus infection

Indeed, masks can only increase infection if this is true.

Its like trying to stop mosquitoes with a chain link fenceย

Its incredible how every single government intervention throughout this crisis has only made matter worse

and the sheeple have believed every lie

Its a virtue signallers paradise now. It would be funny if it werenโ€™t so lethalย

It is genuinely unbelievable. I could challenge someone to post more contradictory messages over two posts and I think they'd struggle.ย

Lockdown has saved lives, to date you are wrong. Lockdown correct call and practically everything you've shared so far has supported that. Will you be a bigger person and admit to being wrong?ย

Anyone who reads this book cannot fail to realise that it explains the current epidemicย

particularly as we now find that most care home residents with Covid were asymptomaticย

https://www.dropbox.com/s/edn3jjd0a82otsy/11th The Transmission of Influenza BOOK.pdf?dl=0

The virus is likely to be a mutation of a virus that was already in existence in humanity for decades and longer

The 1890 flu epidemic which killed a million people worldwide (when the world population was much smaller) is now thought to have caused by a coronavirusย

The virus is mainly spread by asymptomatic people

People become contagious and liable to infection in the winter

Most people have some immunity

People are latent carriers during the summer and the virus mutates which allows it to find new victims and evade vaccinesย ย

This explains why epidemics such as this are so explosive and then suddenly disappear

Lockdown may have been the correct call - if it had been made two weeks+ earlier.

Countries in South America went into lockdown before the U.K. and are only now reaching their peak.

Peru went into lockdown before the U.K., Brazil didnโ€™t. Lockdown has made no difference.

The pandemic has followed the pattern of seasonality regardless of government intervention as shown in the graph below

Regardless of whether lockdown 2 weeks earlier would have madeย any difference, the fact is that we didnโ€™t so the lockdown hasnโ€™t helped at all and has only made matters worse

And we now know that lockdown policies have caused in excess of 10,000 collateralย deaths, have primarily been the cause of Covid and non Covid excess deaths in care homes, will cause up to 35,000 extra cancer deaths and millions will die in the third world.ย

Any potential benefit of lockdown in terms of saving lives had we locked down earlierย has been totally swamped by the deaths that lockdown has causedย

My missus has just shown me the visor sheโ€™ll need to wear when she starts back to work next week.

It says it protects you from droplets, etc.

Sheโ€™ll not be happy when she reads that BBC article about how the virus is spread in the air.....ย

Its incredible how every government intervention is pointlessย

I don't think there's any doubt globally many countries should have acted much quicker. Does that mean it became the wrong call as we "missed the boat" so to speak?ย

We could have learned more from what was happening in Italy IMO

โ€œThe Scottish government has targeted the effective elimination of coronavirus north of the border, โ€œ

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-53336489

so all other airborne viruses will also be eliminated then? No more flu in the winter? No more colds? No need for a measles vaccine anymore?

Utter stupidity

I wouldnโ€™t be surprised if @bazil85ย isย advising the Scottish government ๐Ÿ˜‚

the sole point of a government is - to keep its people safe and well.

So The Buffoon, with his Advisor Cum, certainly chose to miss the boat by lurching initially towards an unattainable "herd immunity".

They are in the top spot.ย  That is where the buck must stop, though he is already trying to pass that parcel with his every utterance.

I purposely used the words MAY and IF as it's currently impossible to say for certain anything wrt this pandemic.

I think your attempted portrayal of godlike infallibility will reveal itsย fallibility in due course/sooner rather than later/in time.ย

But you must know that...

...and probably can attach a colourful graph to demonstrate it.ย  :)

Who said that?ย reading the story it looks like the person from the BBC. Feel free to specifically quote the person linked to the Scottish government that has used that wording... Unlike you to spin a news story.

Let's see if you'll put your hands up to again being clearly wrong.ย ย :whistle

Very selfish if you don't. You've been proven wrong beyond any doubt in your view regarding lockdown.ย
