Latest NRS stats and I’ve updated my chart

As I predicted when the “second wave” began, the red and blue lines would meet again at the end of the pandemic

Vastly overstated covid deaths during the winter.

Wow!  That's a wonderful piece of news.

So it's not only "are we nearly there yet?".  It is all over!!!

No tapering.  No more waves, no more rando outbreaks sporadically hitting parts of the country, no more spikes in Government stats, no more over crowded hospitals with over-worked staff trying to keep people alive.    We are at the end of all that, according our in-house denier.  No more covid and its variants...

Yippeee!!!!!:clapping:clapping:clapping

 I'm really relieved that we'll...

....no longer be bludgeoned by so many irrelevant graphs from the great persecutor of us middle class lefties.  What a sheer relief.  :)

One of them has genuinely held beliefs. The other has superficial beliefs. You can spot them a mile away. Endless virtue signalling is one classic way of spotting them for example.

Does this person constantly refer to people who don't share his view as being cunts or morally repugnant in some way? The inference being that he himself is somehow holding a virtuous viewpoint rather than just a viewpoint.

People who routinely call other people morally repugnant need closely watching and kept away from any position of power and influence. You shouldn't trust them. I remember the champagne socialists of the 80's and 90's as great examples of this. Bud the Baker is of this sort of hypocritical, fake tradition.

I'm surprised you have to ask this TBH.

I had a sneaking suspicion of what you meant, I asked because I wanted to confirm. Felt I would likely disagree with you, I do.

Claims of ‘virtue signalling’ is often a deflection IMO. Some peoples views are just morally bankrupt & calling that out in public discussions is understandable.

You okay, h*n?

There you go, some plastic sympathy from a Peter Weir.

Of course I'm OK. We won on Monday night and I had a great night's sleep. I've had my first covid jab with a second due in a few weeks. Covid restrictions are being removed and life is returning to normal. Why would I not be OK? :D

I have no idea what you mean by bringing up Peter Weir but I'm sure that after a few coffees this morning I'll get over it. :whistle

Life is awesome. For all the difficulties people face in life in this country (and all the many, and seemingly endless, problems still needing resolved), there's never been a better time in the entire history of mankind to be alive right now in this part of the world. I genuinely wish more people like you could take a step back, get a little perspective and appreciate that a bit more.

None of that changes the fact that you are a plastic lefty bud.

It's easy to be a hand-wringing left winger from the comfort of your armchair.

I have no issue with genuine left wingers. I don't agree with their viewpoints but I respect them. Plastic lefties like you on the other hand, are another kettle of fish.

Well now ain't that a whopper and from the self declared "Smartest Guy on the Forum" too!

You're the guy who labelled the Green Party's (the most left wing party in Scotland with MSPs) tax plans "ridiculous" hardly showing respect, "excessive" would have made the same point but been respectful at the same time - but a lack of self-awareness has always been one of your noticeable personality traits.

You show little respect to anyone and deserve none in return, you bullied IOBS off the forum - however I admit to being indebted for the the phrase "morally repugnant" as it's a perfect fit for you.

Oh Bud. As I've said before, if you knew anything about me at all you'd know how ridiculous that bit in bold is.

As for IOBS, have a look at his last posts. They are still up there. You'll quickly see why he no longer posts here.

All cause weekly mortality in Scotland since 1974 updated.

Note the extreme seasonality. Deaths peak and fall away rapidly every single winter without lockdowns.

And we’ve had far worse winters than this one

Oops, I thought this was the Telly thread, still it's an improvement on 90% of the shit posted previously - that's the N/S 4ya! :1eye

A documentary on the Hittite Empire narrated by Jeremy Irons who has inherited the world's most dulcet baritone voice from Richard Burton. Irons won an Oscar for his role in Reversal of Fortune and is famous for many roles in fillums such as The Lion Kind, and Die Hard with a Vengeance amongst others but I still remember him from Playschool, he's the one in the fetching Bow Tie...

Unusual for me to type, but...

Back on topic:

Here is a well-written, clearly laid out 10  scientific reasons in support of airborne transmission of SARS cov2

Ten scientific reasons in support of airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 - The Lancet

Well worth investing a couple of minutes of your time to learn where your next virus might be coming from.  :)

In another upbeat move, I've just booked front row seats IN A CINEMA to watch Sound of Metal, followed by a meal sitting at a table in a restaurant.

Simple but satisfying, I hope.  :)

Must say...

I loathed The Lion Kind.

Far too soppy.  Whoever heard of a vegetarian Lion?
