I am not old enough to remember this; my father was only 6 years old at the time! That was the Scottish Cup. Our only win against them in the League Cup was the 4-1 at Ibrox in 1972. That was not a knock out tie. It was one of 6 sectional games. Edited November 30, 2020 by smcc Quote

I can't remember the last time we scored against them So it's fair to say History is against us It was also against us in the semi final in 2013. The past is not going to be playing us in two weeks though. Best to look forwards than be tied to past failures. Edited November 30, 2020 by oaksoft Quote

Currently we are 11th in the league, Rangers are top. They have not lost a league game this season, we have lost 7. They have scored 41 goals, we have scored 7, I'm pointing this out as you don't seem to realise how you win a game of football. I'm very clear, I would have preferred ANY pother team than Rangers as the chances, and I know you don't understand this either, are slim we will beat them. The draw has been made and we need to prepare as best we can. Can we win, nothing is impossible, will we win, unlikely. Let's see. Quote

Why get yourself so wound up trying not to get your hopes up in case they get dashed? Too scared to commit to anything in case you get hurt. Jeez. Choose life. My post was fairly well balanced, unlike your usual throwaway pish................... I'd like to think you have some evidence of this nonsense but, as usual, you being a coward, will hide behind the ignore function. 🤡 Edited November 30, 2020 by faraway saint Quote
faraway saint Posted November 30, 2020 Report Posted November 30, 2020 It's only sport yet you chastise people, calling people "bellends", for having a different, and more structured, point of view than yourself then get all hurt when they respond? Miserable? Aye, you're well known for spreading happiness. Away and have a word with yourself. Quote

Cumbriansaint72 Posted November 30, 2020 Report Posted November 30, 2020 I've got to say what I would like to see in next round is us starting match on front foot and not sitting back and trying to hit on break as I think it plays into rangers hands, it may just give them something to think about. I agree as I've already said this approach was a major reason we won last Saturday. The alternative is a long slow pumping, some might like that, I'm not so keen. Quote

Erm, yeah I know. you said, and I quote Quote According to stmirren.info the last time we beat them in a cup tie was on our way to the 1926 Scottish Cup Final. Which is clearly wrong. The last time we beat them in a cup tie was in 1972. Quote
Mid Calder Saint Posted November 30, 2020 Report Posted November 30, 2020 Yes if course super Ally with his four goals and he was part-time working with Bank of Scotland my old employer Which is clearly wrong. The last time we beat them in a cup tie was in 1972. Quote

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English "cup tie (noun) game between two teams in a competition in which only the winning team will play any more games" Quote

Because Goodwin utter shites himself against them and installs the fear of god into the players. They are fecking terrified to a man when they step out on that park...feck knows what he says to them all week. Quote

Maybe, just maybe last season and to an extent this season he has looked at dressing room and thought 'not good enough yet', then had to put the fear of god in them to get a reaction. Maybe Doyle-Hayes is the spark the team needs. Always look on the brightside😃 Quote
