Covid-19 Club Statement

Recommended Posts

My wife made a very valid comment: If the same had happened to either of the old firm would the same thing have applied?

Of course not they would have tried the the SPFL to postpone, and if they were told to play like us, they would have magically come up with a 4th player testing positive and they then would fall under the SPFL's rules if 4 players from the 1st team squad test positive they can apply for a postponement.

We missed a late trick if you ask me. :whistle

Three positive tests at the Accies, believe they've still to be confirmed if false positives or not. Will be interested to see how much of the squad is ruled out with close contact. Got to assume the game has to go ahead given the St Mirren situation though.

Seemingly it’s Youth players that are affected.

Is that not the same as their first team?

I'm not saying they are young, but one player was ruled out last week with a bad case of nappy rash.

BBC saying that 3 more Hamilton first team players have tested positive.

Gilmour given a bit of a rough time.  There are three parts to the Covid issue.

The Government decision was simply based on number of cases, risks to other players etc.  They are not worried who is infected, simply number of cases, exposure, risk etc.  They do not look at individual players etc

The UEFA situation only dictates the number of players you need to field.  It does state that it is 13 players INCLUDING a goalkeeper.

The situation of losing 3 goalkeepers very late in the day is a football issue.  The emergency rule is there but what would be the outcome if St Mirren had conscientiously endeavoured to get an emergency goalkeeper and given the difficulty such as player needs to be Covid tested,  failed through no fault of themselves.  Hearts having a goalkeeper in training and tested was pure luck.

Outfield players have gone in goals but seldom from the start.  To me insisting they put an outfield player in goals is the wrong part.

Ross County boss throws his hat into the ring with a wee bit of late support. Won't be surprised if they bring in a new rule now that we've been shafted

Shut up Kettlewell.

We were not disadvantaged.

We had 11 players including a keeper in both matches so not an issue.

A farce is Kettlewell condoning Ross Stewart diving and cheating all over the pitch.

A farce is Kettlewell, Goodwin and others allowing their players to bend the knee for BLM terrorists.

We were disadvantaged. We had to field a keeper who had only met his new team mates 2 hours before kick off.

Ayrshire, you agree with my post ?

Or are you having a girly breakdown because you think I am somebody else.

You seem to be a total weirdo.

" A girly breakdown " ? So you're not just a racist.

Careful now, he'll hound you all over the website if you call him a racist.

Not sure if being called out on misogyny or discrimination against those with mental health problems will get him so irate.

Killie have six players testing positive now.

Their Match must be played tonight.

They can easily raise 13 players to be involved.

Probably false positives anyway.

Looks like Killie game going be off. We forced to play but they can postpone!! No surprise tbh. They have bc enough players. Get on with it. We had to.

Not quite the same, we lost the goalkeeping position, and had a decent replacement, they......................well, need I say more?

Principle though is same. If called us off it sets a precedent they said. And ours was more relevant being goalkeepers.

Let them field their reserves then. We were told there will be no games postponed because of covid when we couldn't delay the hibs game due to the goalkeeping issues..let's see how this pans out, or will it be overshadowed by the draw in Europe for rangers and celtic..
