St Mirren Football Club can confirm that tomorrow’s match against Hamilton Academical has been postponed following Public Health Scotland’s decision to place the entire first-team and coaching staff into isolation.
Chief Executive Tony Fitzpatrick said: "We appreciate this is a frustrating situation for all connected to the club and those involved at Hamilton Academical.
"This continues to be a challenging time for the club but the health and wellbeing of our players and staff remains our utmost concern."

Both games cancelled should be considered as defeats, as they likely would be anyway. If you don’t turn up for a game it’s the only sporting thing to do.

The games are not cancelled they are postponed and in no way should be considered defeats. And how would they likely be defeats anyway

And how do we who is to say we haven't been adhering to protocals or we are more rigorous and thus why so many positive cases have come to light. Where as maybe some other clubs havent as rigorous thus so called no cases. The club can only do so much the players do lead a life as well and can easily come in contact with others outwith the club bubble

Because during the virus we signed a bare minimum squad. We loaned players out when we should have kept squad together and had as big a squad as possible to cover games. Goodwin did opposite so IMO club should be made to play games even with youth players or lose points. Total incompetence on Goodwins part IMO.

If Hertz are top of the championship then they will want back up , they couldn’t get fecked again , could they?🤔

If they stop it now then there’s no way they could be awarded the title after 2 games.

Well I suppose it’s only a nett loss of three points when you factor in the three points we will get back from the Septic game .

I'd like to know how many of the players who have tested positive are asymptomatic. I wonder how many players in the bottom 3 leagues in Scotland this weekend will play when they have the virus, without being tested.

I don’t know the answer to this but would be interested if anyone did. What happens when it’s betfred , LC, Scot cup matches against lower league teams ?
is testing put in place for these part time players or do teams rely on players fessing up if they have a cough and can’t smell farts in the dressing room  ?

eta, sorry if this has been asked and answered previously

Thats actually a fair point seeing as we have played two lower league teams in the past fortnight and the incubation period has been recorded as being up to 11/12 days.

Given that players seem incapable of getting through 2 minutes of football without gobbing or blowing their noses onto the pitch, it really shouldn't come as a surprise that this sort of thing happens.

The really stupid thing is allowing Premiership teams to play lower league teams who are not testing in the same way as we are. I actually didn't realise that was the case.
