You can bury your head in the sand if you want but lets be brutally honest. It's not looking good! So lets see what happens if there is an outbreak at Parkhead or Ibrox. Lets see if they introduce 3-0 defeats and totally screw the league up. Not a chance. Lets see if they set precedents as they will very quickly rue the day. Mid Calder Saint is correct. Its Scottish football though so expect back stabbing and a complete lack of commonsense.

Everyone is "honest with the truth" Some may be a little less forthcoming with it though.

I'm saying with Celtic their whole system is in house no external involvement so difficult to dispute any result either way.

linwood buddie
A couple of English games called off yesterday, maybe the league will see this pandemic is hitting other teams might sway things in our favour.

I don't think "two wrongs" make a right. Taking solace in other teams/leagues is irrelevant to the situation in Scotland. Early days, like the whole covid mess, let's sit tight, best not to speculate.............................. PLEASE LET US OFF.

Saint@Johnstone
Seems like ages since we last played, and no game again this weekend. When is our next game ? I’ve lost touch, and interest unfortunately.

But giving us a 3-0 defeat wouldn't set a precedent as punishment for there being a Covid outbreak, only for there being wrongdoing at the club in question. So for Celtic and Rangers they would just simply conclude that there was no wrongdoing. Easy.
The Original 59er
I'm not proud of this, but I recall having answered Schull on this very topic and I said that all it would need is one team to test positive for two to three weeks and it f**ks up the whole process. The SPFL can't come up with a suggestion now about awarding teams 3-0 wins / losses, as the post above says what happens if say either of the old firm suddenly state that 4 or 5 players are positive and can't play. It's a mess created by the drive to get games back on the park, yet so daft that clubs get minimal financial benefit by playing as no crowds / income from the viewing public is available. Brian Rice called it correctly, you can't decide the league on a basis of awarding 3-0 wins can you imagine the league being decided simply on that basis alone as the team at the top managed to evade, or hide the fact that none of their players tested positive. No, having started, the SPFL must now see this through, one way or another. Saints will just have a massive backlog of games to play and that will probably be very difficult, given the sparse look to our squad. If this goes on, an obvious solution would be to curtail the season by only playing each other twice before the split and abandoning the national Cup competitions. Trying to cram everything in, knowing before the season even started that they only had a few free weeks till April, and in the middle of a pandemic too, was obviously a stupid idea. What happens if we get a few weeks of snow and ice?

Sonny
For reference..... SPFL statement Kilmarnock FC and St Mirren FC disciplinary dates announced... The SPFL has today announced that disciplinary proceedings have been commenced against St Mirren FC. It is alleged that St Mirren FC breached the SPFL’s Covid-19 Regulations during the lead-up to their postponed League Matches v Motherwell FC on Saturday 17 October and v Hamilton Academical FC on Saturday 24 October. The St Mirren hearing will be held before a Sub-Committee of the Board of the SPFL, chaired by an independent legally-qualified chair, on Tuesday 10 and/or Wednesday 11 November. The previously announced disciplinary hearing in relation to Kilmarnock FC will be held on Tuesday 10 November and now may also extend into Wednesday 11 November. mattman
If we receive any sporting disadvantage by this... Then the games done. Our league will be at its lowest, and that’s saying something! Hopefully common sense prevails, Massively doubtful though.

If St mirren are held up as a scapegoat in this farce and are penalised in a “sporting sense” I’m finished with the game here. It’s a complete make it up as you fumble along here with the SPFL Cannot see the SPFL taking on and threatening the Glasgow two in this threatening manner. An absolute race to the bottom , the state of the game here.
