St Mirren v Aberdeen

We looked a decent outfit today and basically passed Aberdeen off the park ......... that’s all very well but you have to put the ball in the net ! The amount of really dangerous balls we had into the box today must have been well into double figures but our old failing of not being able to convert chances continues to haunt us . That one Erwin misses at the end ....... ah mean what the actual f#ck !!!

You really are a cretin you first be disrespectful of food banks now you are way below the belt of females

Not “way” below the belt. Their hole is usually just below their belt.

Maybe worth asking Gerrard if we can get Stewart on loan since a striker is a must in Jan. He must be about 5th choice at Ibrox and they clearly don't need him.

Its not just about the striker role we need to be creating chances for them if we dont do that we could have anyone up front with no return

Maybe they'll give us back some of the points we gifted them this week? An early Christmas present, perhaps?

Get that letter to Santa written NOW.

We created PLENTY of chances today.

Our goals for total is tragic, while their has been a problem providing the ammunition, our midfield are not guilty of this now.

The defence is now looking very solid (by St Mirren standards).

Our midfield is looking good by SPL standards - McGrath, McPherson and Erhahon are amongst the most talented in Scotland (not forgetting Foley and Flynn) and in Doyle-Hayes we have our very own 'Xavi' - he's a true class act.

We have a real attacking threat down the wings.

The least said about our strike force the better.

However, surely with this pool of players we can't get relegated?

We Had cross after cross going into the box today - some low, some high - but Obika never got anywhere near any of them. We had 24 attempts on goal but not one by our striker. We are creating loads of chances but have no-one who is a natural goalscorer.

Maybe if the delivery to Obika was more accurate,  he'd have a better chance of scoring. Put in a good shift today and we definitely looked less of a threat after he went off.

Obika never has inthe air. He isn't brave enough in the air, better with low balls. Huge weakness in his game. Hence Erwin coming on as we were piling in the crosses. Erwin was a gamble that just hasn't worked. I'd reserve judhement on Dennis.

We definitely need to sort it out though as its costing us big time

That hasn't been a problem for the last few weeks. I've held back on being harsh on forwards as we've been playing turgid pish but guys like Doyle-Hayes, Durmus and McGrath are creating more than enough.

Shouldn't have taken Obika off. His hold up play pretty good.

seems to happen regularly as well. I'm really not getting what's going through our managers head when he decides to go down that route. I thought the free scoring morias looked good when he came on against Aberdeen in the cup, but Erwin and Dennis have zero redeeming features.

We are St Mirren and as such we can't afford outstanding players so, if we evaluate Obika, within the context of our club, he is one of the uppermost amongst our squad.  That back-heel in the first half nearly led to a goal but the quality of that manoeuvre displays a confidence and composure that many other players don't have. Yes, it was a mistake by JG in taking him and Connelly off which led to achieving a disappointing draw.
