The Vaccine

When I went in I heard a nurse and the security guard talking saying they were surprised as they had been warned that people would be asking which vaccine they would be getting due to all the bullshit around about the Oxford one but noone had asked they all just wanted to get it so its not having too much of an effect.

Sister in law had it on Saturday too , felt worse than me but took some paracetamol and slept it off was fine by the Monday.

I thought it was 37 cases in 17 million doses? guess it depends on the news program lol

One thing, it's 2021, surely I could drink it or have a Star Trek type gadget rather than a big needle? 🙄

I’ve always thought this,, 🤷‍♂️    It’s the 21st century and we still don’t have a better way of immunising people than using a f**king big needle and stabbing people 💉😬

Scree of needles ? Me ?     nah ! 😜

So, Covid experts on here , ( there seems to be a few )

I’ve had covid so I’ve been told I will have a level of immunity from that, I’m due to get the jab in the next few weeks so will that make me super duper immune and able to fly anywhere and go to the football ?

Obviously.🤪

Have you got an appropriate wingspan for flying? Seems quite labour intensive.

I had to go through a course of interferon(self injecting) every week for two years and believe me the needle for vaccine is the thinnest I've ever seen, you don't feel a thing. Honest

Yep. They use microfine needles by the looks of it - although I did shut my eyes and avert my gaze while they were doing it for fear of passing out if I didn't.

Didn't even realise I'd had the jag when she said I was free to go over to the chairs for a wait for 15 minutes.

I don't remember you saying you'd an appointment or had it, you're not making stuff up again are you?

With scaremongering spreading throughout Europe the old "we're erring on the side of caution" is being rolled out.

A doctor turned that on it's head, "they are throwing caution to the wind as less vaccinations will result in more cases/illness/death".

Also more talk about some sort of vaccine passport, seems to be growing calls for this, although it'll need to survive the PC brigade as, no doubt they will find a reason NOT to have one, overlooking the benefits.

My boy is Type 1 diabetic and after 8 years of finger pricking to check his blood glucose his fingers were essentially getting destroyed, I explain this to his specialist who advised this very cool sensor (Dexcom) that goes in his arm every 10 days and transmits a continuous reading. Truly life changing.

Weird thing is I can inject him with insulin but cannot watch anyone else do it, I’m a woos when it comes to needles!!

I said to my wife last night if we could buy back all the Astra/Zeneca jabs that no one wants in Europe surely that could speed up our own program.

Logistics might mean that the roll out can't be any faster, it's, surprisingly, going really well right now.

I heard on the radio yesterday almost 2 million in Scotland, that's some going.

Indeed, 2 million is good going, take the point on logistics, guess there is only so many vaccination centres and vaccinators.

I have however always wondered if they could go 24 hours at certain locations with allocated slots?

How many people are going to turn up at 3:15 in the morning?

As keen as I am I would be looking for an alternative time.

There are people who work during the night but not sure the numbers and logistics would make too many of these locations worthwhile.

I've actually spoke to quite a few folk regarding this and yet to find one that wouldn't. [emoji106]

Isn't there more that work during the day and they seem to manage.

I agree that it would be mainly beneficial for those that can and are able to make it to the larger centres. But that would free up the more local locations for those that couldn't.

My Mrs made a great point the other day when she was at work in her School to some teaching staff who are declining the offer to take the vaccine. She said to them, ‘If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem’.

She added to them, they forfeit the right to complain about lockdown/ shops/bars closed , kids being home schooled on that basis.

Just about sums it up I guess.

I've spoken to quite a few good and none would be happy turning up at stupid o-clock.

That proves my point then? 🤪

Seemingly the first "blip" in the availability of the vaccine.

Could cause a delay in the next month for the next group who are due their first jag.

Paralysed says one headline..........

Covid vaccine supply shortage to paralyse UK rollout

Manufacturing problems will mean sharp slowdown in April, as EU threatens to block exports of Pfizer jab to Britain

Then again, conflicting news from vaccination producers................

Drugs giants Pfizer and AstraZeneca have rejected an NHS claim that the UK is facing a COVID-19 vaccine shortage, insisting there is no threat to supplies.

The two leading vaccine manufacturers both said they remain on course to meet their delivery commitments and denied they were facing disruption in supplies.

Their defiant statements appeared to contradict a letter to vaccination centres from NHS England warning there will be a "significant reduction" in supplies next month.

Hope they don't run out before tomorrow.
