Sonny 9,260 Report post Posted January 24 Goodwin to blame for that. What has Ilkay to do to get a start? Mason never kicked a ball and should have been off at half time. And Ethan and Cammy were sitting too deep. First half was a shambles.
delpierro 736 Report post Posted January 24 Goodwin has to take ownership for his team selection and formation. And for the luv of baby Jesus, someone explain Brandon Mason, for me. Eatch who's marking Robinson, for their goak.

zurich_allan 1,194 Report post Posted January 24 Pathetic. And Goodwin to blame. Beat Rangers last round, Aberdeen the round before, have beaten Livingston twice in the league and go into the game with a lineup and tactics like that? Not good enough, and the blame is squarely on the manager.
turrabuddie 1,713 Report post Posted January 24 Much better in the 2nd half but overall didn’t do nearly enough in the final third to threaten Livi’s keeper and the correct result. And so we move on. JG needs to work on us creating chances.(Fakes to win this Cup)
oaksoft 13,678 Report post Posted January 24 Two stonewall penalties denied. Two clear chances to shoot and we pass instead. At least we went down giving it everything. I'm afraid the quality just isn't there in the midfield at the moment and that has cost us today. Tait was our best player IMO and if we had a team of players as good as him we'd be in a different place. The back 4 all played very well actually after a shaky start. Livingston were utter shit and we've dominated possession for most of the game and that'll be the cause of the pain for the players tonight. Oh well.
billyg 5,838 Report post Posted January 24 Where to start ? We gave them too much respect. How they could go 10 in a row unbeaten , I'll never know , they are rotten. A hit and run championship team . Looks like Brophy and whoever else we have for forward roles are not the answer. If ever a game was there for the taking , that was it !
W6Saint 1,072 Report post Posted January 24 I have no doubt Goodwin will be in the press afterwards giving the usual Bafta-worthy performance but the blame is on him for this one. All eyes on him now in a big few weeks, just as far away from relegation as we are top 6... interesting times ahead

I have no idea what Foley and Flynn need to do to get a game.
Russian Saint 1,309 Report post Posted January 24 Embarrassing from Obika stay on feet and get us a chance to score. I wouldn’t mind seeing that again, but from the replay it looked like Obika had his foot clipped............or maybe I need new specs.

And Tait - great. Agreed. If more had his heart and strength and self-belief it may have been different. Livvi really wanted it from the start.
the barrhead teacher 759 Report post Posted January 24 The second half was a major improvement on the first but we really don’t look like scoring. We have scored so few goals this season for a reason. We are better with two up front, no doubt, and there is not much between most of the teams in this league as demonstrated again, by too many hopeful high balls, limited real inspiration and l do struggle at times with Goodwin lineups. Too worried about losing, but it isn’t working
[email protected] 75 Report post Posted January 24 Was utter misery listening in, but the fact is yet another game without us scoring. It must be some kind of a record. Anyway, poor show once more by Saints. To make matters worse, the woman presenter on radio utters so many errs, umms and ahs that she could be Johnson’s speech writer. Our chance to win a trophy with no big guns left and we are just not up to it. That leaves the Scottish cup and relegation dogfight. Happy days.

Micky 64 Report post Posted January 24 Dreadful negative team selection, dreadful hit n hope tactics, dreadful defending and ‘too little too late’ subs. One of the most pitiful semi final ‘performances’ I can remember from any side. Felt we were always going to lose from the second minute onwards. Jim deserves all the stick he will undoubtedly get for this. He’d better shake this safety first bullshit. The month of January has been a disgrace. If we don’t reverse our fortunes sharpish we can easily get sucked back into the mire. Long gone are those performances against Aberdeen when we actually started to look like a good team.
W6Saint 1,072 Report post Posted January 24 As a side note; what is with the play acting? Seems to be creeping in to our games a lot, and we rarely benefit from it
