Gary, they play on that surface in France, Belgium and Germany to name just a few countries. So how come they seem to be doing OK? emoji6.png

Knowing that I've already checked. And lived in Spain for 18 years. Name a top league team that have a plastic pitch. Top league only.

Still waiting Spanish and German

You're the only person who mentioned Spain. You asked for one top league team from France, Belgium or Germany and you got it.

I do agree plastic pitches are shite though

Good point on what is always an awful surface but today was an utter shit surface and was unplayable with players slipping and sliding.Delighted with our current league position.Oh and why do we get novice refs and not the OF.It is a bloody disgrace.

Refereeing the OF is another step up for any referee. Just the way it is. Any referee will tell you that.

Young referees have to learn somewhere. He will take a lot from today and improve.

Hoping they lose soon to see if it bursts the bubble before we face them. We need to improve also as we have slipped in the last few weeks

A crazy run of form.

Just got to hope by the time the semi final is about,  their form has dropped and we've picked up.

Understand what you are saying and of course there are no crowds at present why should the OF get special treatment we all playing for the same points

Problem is the fallout from an OF game can be pretty messy for a young ref. Its a big enough step for a young ref to do a Premiership game never mind one involving the OF. Especially a 10 in a row season. Having said that I have sympathy with your view. It aint going to happen though 😀

BBC Sportscene programme is awful did not even discuss the fact that the Killie keeper went straight through Tait forcing him to be subbed. This was a straight red card and a penalty. This ref was so far out of his depth it beggars belief he has reached Grade 1.Moreover that pitch was unplayable and was a complete danger to the players.Time for SFA/SPFL to conduct investigation. Very surprised we as a club did not make strong objections to this match going ahead.

Had a look at their game on Sportscene.

They get the ball forward very quickly. Even it's a hopeful punt.

Two of their goals yesterday came from that tactic.

Didn't think it was any card for the keeper to be honest. Thought it was a straightforward clash with no intent by either player. We are always demanding our goalkeeper to go take everything in his wake  to get the ball, yet when it happens to us, hmmmmmm.

Didn't think it was a penalty to us either, despite that moron commentator's opinion. Where has the game gone when we are demanding a pen for that ??

Carig Napier is a solid young ref and more than deserves to be a Grade 1. He will learn from performing at a higher level and may get to be a regular at Premiership or may not, time will tell.

100% agree on the pitch and the state of it as the game wore on. Astros should be banned at Premiership and Championship.

If it was a straightforward clash, surely it should have been a bounce ball rather than a free kick to Killie.

I agree that it was a straight forward clash.  Although in those situations involving a GK, almost every time a Ref will give a free-kick to the goalies team.

There is no way any ref would give a bounce ball there in that situation.

Yep it wasn't a foul to Killie ? It should have been an uncontested bounce ball with Killie retaining possession

Too quick to give protection to the keeper.

Did Killie have possession of the ball when the clash happen and if not, why should they get an uncontested bounce ball ?

Question
We had Joe Shaughnessy ordered off against Ross County making a great clean clearance but the argument that we all grudgingly accepted at the time was that he wasn't in control through out and his follow through endangered and injured his opponent Ross Stewart.
Do goalkeepers not have to adhere to the same rules?
Killie keeper Rogers certainly cleared the ball as Shaughnessy did but showed absolutely no control or care in his lunge kneeing Tait in the head endangering and ultimately injuring his opponent to the point he couldn't even continue.

I just don't see the difference. Either players challenge maintaining control or they are penalised. Not just when officials feel like it.

How is Rogers in any way in control of his challenge here?
