Eamonn Brophy

Six clubs linked with a move for Brophy and we're one of the chasing pack.

Looking at the other clubs on the list, you'd need to think we're far down the pecking order though.

Really good signing by the club and hopefully his best years still ahead at only 24, Aggressive player who's not afraid to have a dig from 25yds.

A far better player than Stevie May who we tried to sign last year

Stevie Clark rated him enough to bring him into the Scotland squad.

The  club is not standing still and that is very pleasing,

At work right now with my Kilmarnock season ticket holder workmate and his opinion is "you can f#####g have him" just shoots from everywhere when better options are available & rates himself better than he has proved at Kimarnock.

Another Lee Erwin by the looks of things with maybe 1 or 2 more goals in him.

Erwin,Morias,Dennis,Chabbi,Cooke etc etc etc come to mind another striker who doesn't score goals.

29 goals in 70 starts for Kilmarnock. The only non OF player in Scotland outwith Brophy with a better record over last 3 seasons is Sam Cosgrove.

His scoring record is good. We are never going to be able to attract proven 20 goals a season types, especially current internationals and guys in their early to mid 20s so I'm not sure what you expect in a signing. Brophy ticks a lot of boxes and strengthens out front line without a doubt.

A signing that most of us thought would have his pick of clubs outwith the OF and he's picked us. I mean it just goes to show that some fans are impossible to please.

Dargo and Wyness scored loads elsewhere but dried up with us. Brophy has dried up at Kille, so perhaps..........?

A fit Dargo would have scored plenty with us but was physically broken. When he did play, he was excellent and was probably a step ahead of many of the ponderous players in that Gus team.

Wyness was finished when he came to us and had been for a few years. He was also never exactlyvprolific as a top flight footballer. The Lawrence Shankland of his day.

Incidentally, Brophy has only racked up 600 minutes so far this season and scored 3 goals. That's half the minutes of the much loved Shankland and the same goals return. Yet Shankland is still heralded as lethal. I'd gave Brophy, who has proven he scores goals at this level, ahead of Shankland any day.

Brophy has scored almost as many top flight goals at age 24 in under 4 seasons than Dargo managed in his full career. No comparison.
