ironsaints87 235 Report post Posted January 9 Need some entertainment. So think I'll go watch some paint dry. That was f**king dire. Didnt deserve a point. Could have 2 or 3 down by half time. Durmuss looked better than the other 11 put together. Maybe with the exception of McGrath and Alnwick. Deserved nothing but nicked a point. CoysTotally agree
northstbuddie 1,300 Report post Posted January 9 One minute the St Mirren TV commentator is saying their goalkeeper hasn't had a save to make all game and then when we score from our fortuitous penalty our goal was well deserved - maybe he meant 'Well' deserved.
ironsaints87 235 Report post Posted January 9 Can't believe so many on here struggled to find anything enjoyable about that today. Maybe football at our level isn't for you guys?🤣

Dare 1,083 Report post Posted January 9 Better in second half but not at our best today and lucky we weren’t at least 2 down by half time. Mcgrath has developed into a key player for us and once again cool as f#ck with the pen.

I think some fans have unrealistic expectations about saints, it all has to be put in comparison with previous seasons, we are playing the best football that I have seen in the last 5 years and can hold our own against any team in the league, what’s not enjoyable about that? Ayrshire Saints 4,794 Report post Posted January 9 No drama Obika and Mason injured. Goody says Obika a week or two but Mason more serious

'Well made the usual mistake of sitting back and wasting time - instead of continuing to outplay us as they had been in the first half. Our effort wasn't lacking this afternoon, but the quality certainly was.

santaponsasaint 5,285 Report post Posted January 9 Again, you reckon Motherwell deserved all 3 points on that showing today????? Did you not say the same thing last week about Killie? You go and watch your mediocre football. And thats being generous. Out the 2 teams you couldn't make 1 decent team. Sums up the SPL utter rubbish. But if your enjoying it I'm happy for you. Now I have more exciting things to do like walk the dog.

Ayrshire Saints 4,794 Report post Posted January 9 Can't believe so many on here struggled to find anything enjoyable about that today. Maybe football at our level isn't for you guys?I think compared to what we had been used to last couple of months today was disappointing. The massive positive is this squad has bags of character and we score plenty late goals and win a lot of points from losing positions. That in itself is a huge improvement on previous seasons. Today we didn't play well but we dug in and earned our point. To say it was an enjoyable watch though is stretching things a bit.

faraway saint 31,704 Report post Posted January 9 Last two games, two massive bits of luck. At the end of the day points make prizes. As a few have mentioned we are not as sharp as were up to the Rangers league cup game, since then, certainly dropped off IMO.

lenziebud 1,259 Report post Posted January 9 Good point given the level of performance for 70mins. Not been playing well for a number of games now. Have to say I thought Lee Erwin did well last 30 mins. Hold up play and lay offs were good. Erwin looked a far better player when Brophy came on. Brophy looks like he will give us what we have been lacking up front. As will Quaner. Connolly is a threat and has bags of pace but his distribution and final ball are abysmal. McAllister is not close to Premiership level and needs to be binned. How he starts I'll never know. 2 points dropped but given the performance 1 point gained.

Ayrshire Saints 4,794 Report post Posted January 9 Another big mention for Jim's Jim's substitutions yet again. Changed the pattern of the game. I don't know if McAllister was getting hooked anyway but the passage of play immediately before him leaving was pitiful. He had a good start on the big Well defender but appeared to be running in treacle as the big man easily out paced him over 20m or so. It was sad to watch.
