St Mirren v Motherwell 9/1/21

Accept my view on Erwin is a negative one. Not sure why that’s so funny to you

That’s great, that’s your opinion, I share it mostly but I feel (hope) we’ll be better served going with the new options over Erwin.

Incorrect, I literally gave my negative view on Erwin’s in my first post, consistent since.

There’s nothing for you to get obsessed over here, I’m largely agreeing with you 👍

Yet another lining up for a cheap shot at Erwin.
Get behind him FFS... Supporters do that, you know. Support and encourage.
He played well overall and had some lovely touches.
Much more to come from the lad.
Boo boy!

I'm not a big fan. But thought he was our best player today.

Watch the Motherwell goal back again. He has at fault there.

Erwin and McGrath were pretty isolated for the first 60 mins. Well were marking JDH as they obviously know he is our lynchpin. Ethan played far too deep and had no urgency to his game - could have been a training session. McPherson plays further forward with more urgency and aggression and I would have had him on at half-time. McGrath was trying to cover most of the midfield and support Erwin on his own.

Connolly and McAllister were playing too wide and not coming in enough to support Erwin in the box. I'd always start Ilkay over McAllister who does't have the fitness, physique and stamina for this level. Noticably improved when Ilkay came on.

I like Fraser but his passing was abysmal today constantly giving away possession.

We deserved a draw even with a misfiring squad - remember Well had 2 internationalists in their back four - and with a larger squad we can look forward to more competition for places.

Do you really think Coventry want him back ?

Well we're not exactly blessed with a plethora of left sided players and we know what we have with Mason.

I don't rate Mason. Not really bothered he is injured. Other like him so I guess its all opinions

On the strength of the last few games I thought young Erhahon should have been on the bench at best. He has become a liability in the midfield as he refuses to tackle and is now, in the main, sitting too deep to affect the offensive part of the game. I can only assume the likes of MacPherson must be dreadful in training to warrant Ethan starting in front of them.

As for the game. We just about merited a draw but the way we got it was a bit embarrassing. Erwin went down in stages after his sleeve was brushed. If he has a conscience he'll be hiding behind the settee when the highlights are shown today and I'm pretty certain Michael Stewart will have a field day.

That's not what the pen was given for. As FTOF mentions Mugabi takes Erwins foot away as he Erwin play the ball. It was obvious at the time on the replay. Not quite getting where the confusion was. A bit soft but on balance it was a pen.

Turns out it was a great spot by Madden for the penalty. Turn the sound up on the clip and you can clearly hear Mugabi's contact with Erwin's boot. The angle it's filmed from gives you more perspective on what actually happened, compared to the front on view.

If THAT had been given against us the forum would have been shouting about the ref being, well, the usual mince.
Hey, we, as I said yesterday, are carrying some luck right now, better than bad luck.

Good one!

Mugabe clearly kicks Erwin's foot and takes his leg away. It would be given as a foul all day long if it was outside the box.

I've watched it a few times. My first inclination was what you said but I'm not convinced there was any contact. Looked like a dive to me. As I said. I thought we did enough for a draw but I don't think the penalty was justified.
